Legendary songs, hot days, thrilling groove: A concert-rich summer is just around the corner – let’s go with the Köpenicker cult ensemble “Jazz’n’Oldies”!

Unforgettable summer hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s come back to life: From “Sommernachtsball” (Veronika Fischer) to “Summer in the City” (Joe Cocker) to “Kling Klang” (Keimzeit) – the best earworms meet fresh choral arrangements. Especially East German rock ballads, which have been specially arranged for the ensemble, evoke memories. Nordic songs and world music join in, creating atmospheric goosebumps moments.

The ensemble “Jazz’n’Oldies” has been passionate about energetic choral sounds since its founding in 2003 and kicks off the most beautiful season with an exciting concert program. Sometimes gentle and dreamy, sometimes powerful and rhythmic – participation is explicitly encouraged: clap, snap, sing along! An evening full of musical variety and exuberant mood – then summer can finally come!

Doors open about 60 minutes before the performance starts.

Whether in the forest, at home or on the go: KAPellina finds acquaintances and friends for new adventures everywhere. In the very first concert of the season, we accompany KAPellina through her crazy family life – musical ideas and games can be found everywhere.

In our KAPellina concerts, sophisticated chamber music is played in a child-friendly and imaginative atmosphere across various musical eras. In many interactive activities, we dive into the world of classical music together with KAPellina and develop perception, motor skills, and a musical-cultural understanding in a playful way.

Summer theater in historic town centers 2025

Also this year, theater 89 invites you to a biting-provocative theater evening. "Der neue Menoza" is a comedy in five acts by Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz, published in 1774. The play thematizes, with much satirical wit and ironic elements, the ideals and contradictions of the enlightened society, especially concerning religion, culture, and the moral values of the nobility and bourgeoisie. At the center is Prince Tandi, who travels to Europe to get to know a better world – and in doing so confronts the abysses of Western morality and hypocrisy.
In its usual manner, theater 89 presents a comedy that questions the supposedly enlightened society and critically illuminates the gap between ideals and reality.

Prinzen und Prinzessinen in Mirow und Rheinsberg

Schloss Mirow liegt auf einer malerischen Insel in der Mecklenburgischen Seenplatte. Wie in einem vergessenen Schatzkästchen verstecken sich hier Erinnerungen an skurrile Herzöge, mächtige Witwen und an Prinzessinnen, die zu Königinnen wurden. Die jüngste von ihnen, Prinzessin Charlotte, verbrachte am 17. August 1761 ihre letzte Nacht im kleinen Mirow. Am nächsten Tag verließ sie die Heimat für immer und brach auf, um Königin von Großbritannien zu werden.

Schloss und Park Mirow mit dem Renaissance-Torhaus, mit der Liebesinsel, dem barocken Kavalierhaus und der Johanniterkirche mit der Familiengruft des Strelitzer Herzogshauses bilden ein einzigartiges Ensemble.

Dorthin entführen wir Sie, denn die Höfe von Mirow und Rheinsberg waren befreundet. „… Heute hatte ich Besuch vom ganzen Mirower Hof: Mutter, Tante, Frau, Gatte und alles was dazu gehört kam an. Ich habe sie tanzen lassen bis zur Grenze der menschlichen Leistungsfähigkeit. Wir überhäufen und versehen sie mit allem, denn wahrhaftig, diese guten Leute besitzen keine anderen Reichtümer als ihren Titel, ihr Wappen und den Stammbaum eines sehr alten Hauses.“ (Kronprinz Friedrich, 1736)

Als der König Friedrich II. noch Kronprinz in Rheinsberg war, erfand er für die Mirower Gesellschaft den Spottnamen Mirokesen. Es gab mehrere Begegnungen zwischen dem Rheinsberger Kronprinzen und der herzoglichen Familie aus Mirow. Sie erschien ihm als sehr einfach, ungebildet und komisch.

Preußen besaß gegenüber den Strelitzern ein Vielfaches an Macht, Einfluss und Reichtum. Die Mirokesen hatten jedoch im Gegensatz zu Friedrich zahlreiche Nachkommen. Ihre glückliche Heiratspolitik sorgte u.a. dafür, dass Prinzessin Luise, eine Enkelin des ersten Mirokesen durch ihre Heirat mit Kronprinz Friedrich Wilhelm zur berühmtesten Königin Preußens werden sollte.

Schauspieler Alexander Bandilla wird bei der Fahrt von Neuruppin über Rheinsberg nach Mirow mit Theodor Fontane den Bogen vom Rheinsberger zum Mirower Schloss schlagen. Fontane selbst hat über Mirow leider nichts geschrieben. Aber über Rheinsberg, Friedrich den Großen und Prinz Heinrich lesen wir in seinen „Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg“. Was Fontane über Mirow eventuell geschrieben haben könnte, wäre er dort gewesen, können wir auf der Rücktour gemeinsam erörtern.

In Axel Poike's new adaptation, Hänsel and Gretel set off on their journey – out of their poor circumstances in the woods, into the big city, the place of their longings and hopes for culinary delights. There, they encounter a sweet witch with her overwhelming candy chocolate cake house, where many children have already met their fate, frozen in the gingerbread of their wishes.
Even though the children are warned on their way by many familiar figures from world literature: children must experience their lives for themselves. Poike's evil witch is not a creaky, crunchy grandma, but a sweet and breathtaking presence, just like her house. Hänsel and Gretel must reflect on their own ideas of sweet wishes in our performance, to ultimately come to the realization: in the sweetness and beauty, right behind the enjoyment lies the great danger.
Into the oven with everything that is the devil's!

"Provoking was not difficult for us," PANKOW guitarist Jürgen Ehle chuckles. "With André, you just needed to put him up front, that was enough." Singer André Herzberg was a thorn in the side of the GDR authorities, portraying in the Paule Panke music spectacle an apprentice without enthusiasm, a counter-model to the ideology of the communist superhero. Like in 1983 when he suddenly appeared on stage during a television broadcast in Wehrmacht uniform and not so subtly addressed the regime. Singing about "old men" who had been "admired for too long." Bans followed and were a daily routine for PANKOW. This record, this cover, this line of text not allowed. The band made a sport out of it. Not for nothing does punk resonate in the band's name. The Berliners were far too popular for definitive reprisals. All of this, and how they remained edgy with new music in the years following in 'Alles So Schön Bunt Hier', PANKOW wants to bring back to memory on their farewell tour "Until the end". A final declaration of love to the band, to the sense of community that made it easier for them and perhaps also their loyal fans to navigate the world. "Until the end," PANKOW will walk the path together.

PANKOW consists of guitarist Jürgen Ehle, singer André Herzberg, drummer Stefan Dohanetz, and keyboardist Andreas Dziuk.

Join us at the Kinderfest around the beautiful Spielzeugmuseum Havelland in romantic Kleßen. The toy museum opens its doors and showcases a different "world of play" than that of today's electronics-influenced childhood. It appeals to the senses and feelings of all generations. The museum's historical exhibits are witnesses of their time, mirrors, and documents of their era and society. How did children play in the past when there were no mobile phones?

You can experience this with us starting at 3:00 PM! There are old children's games like jump rope, hopscotch, marbles, or blowing bubbles to enjoy. The Children's Book Museum invites you to search games in its exhibition. Those who prove themselves as detectives will find small surprises waiting for them. The Tüfteltheater will also show two performances of the program "Die ver(d)rückte Luft" at 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM, making physical laws playful for children and adults alike.

Additionally, the museum with its museum shop will be open, and there will be coffee and cake and delicious waffles. Thanks to the funding from MWFK Brandenburg, admission prices have been deliberately kept low again this year.
