An international premiere in Leverkusen. Martin Palmeri is a master of the fusion of Western classical music and tango. As an Argentine composer and conductor, he is especially known for his choral works and his ability to unite classical music with the traditional sounds of South America. With his Requiem, Palmeri now sets another milestone. In this mass for the dead, he combines the traditional form with the sounds of Argentina, creating a distinctive connection between spiritual tradition and Argentine music. Together with the Bayer Philharmoniker and the Projektchor 007, this new work celebrates its premiere at the Forum Leverkusen – with the composer himself at the piano.

ProA 2025/26: The GIANTS are back – and ready for new challenges!

After an impressive 2024/25 season with a record of 33 wins and only one loss throughout the season, and winning the ProB championship, the Bayer Giants Leverkusen are returning to the ProA. The team, led by head coach Michael Koch, who was awarded for his outstanding work as Coach of the Year, has more than earned their promotion.

The upcoming season promises not only athletic excellence but also emotional moments and an exhilarating atmosphere in the Ostermann Arena.

In a small Parisian apartment: Marlene Dietrich and Viv, her long-time companion through the highs and lows of her legendary career. Withdrawn from the outside world, Marlene reflects on the past, which suddenly becomes tangible and alive again. In this dramatic confrontation, the world star faces her own myth.
Sven Ratzke is a show and musical superstar who performs on the most renowned stages in the world, including the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam’s Carnegie Hall), the Berliner Ensemble, the Opera House in Sydney, and the Lincoln Center in New York City. In this play, he embodies Marlene Dietrich and "is now fully attuned to Marlene from head to toe, from text to song. Yet he creates something entirely unique. Strictly prohibited – this refers to the core of this concert program: a whole series of unauthorized arrangements in various ensembles of the Chamber Music Center NRW. L.v. Beethoven had an ambivalent attitude towards the arrangement of his works. While he referred to the era in relation to arrangements as “fruitful,” he advised publishers that the title page of every arrangement should clearly indicate that it was an arrangement, “to protect the honor of the author and to prevent people from being misled.” In a time when copyright laws either did not exist or were practiced rather vaguely, unauthorized “privatized” arrangements of composers' works were widespread – to the dismay of every original author. Despite Beethoven's obvious aversion to such practices, these arrangements significantly contributed to the popularity of his original works, enabling us to rediscover them again and again today.

The focus remains on the essential, on the essence, the pure. Nicole Nau & Luis Pereyra present musical highlights like magical pillars on stage.
Pereyra creates original and unique dance interpretations, in which popular, successful but long-forgotten archaic forms are resurrected. In all scenes of these universes, enchanting and imaginative costumes can be admired, including original clothing from Argentine history. Nicole Nau personally oversees the costume design. Small interludes of their tales reveal the secrets of Argentine culture, in which Nau has lived for more than 35 years now. Thus, Nicole Nau & Luis Pereyra bring us the real Argentine Tango in its magical pure form, which conquered the world in the 80s, back. Man and woman in a proud embrace. The journey leads to the rhythms of the Pampa with its Milonga Sureña of black African origin. Indigenous dances lead to a magical past. The Chacarera from the province of Santiago shows unrestrained joy and liveliness, while the Zamba on the other hand is the most sensual of all Argentine dances. A tenderness that touches. Beauty, eroticism, and pride in dialogue through dance. Hardly any artist remains so consistently loyal to the original local culture of his country as Luis Pereyra. This may be because Luis Pereyra has been on stage for 50 years and knows the roots of his culture like no other. He himself was the protagonist for 10 years of the groundbreaking show "Tango Argentino," for which he was nominated for the TONY Award. He participated in the most important productions of his country but was also a critic of any "selling out of culture," which dilutes the essence of true traditions. Pereyra creates a depth that emotionally takes your breath away and continually touches and captivates. He creates a work where modern staging merges with the traditional archaic culture of Argentina, which shapes this country so much. Luise Adolphe Le Beau (1845–1926) was one of the most outstanding composers of her time - yet she remained long in the shadow of her male colleagues. At the age of 16, the native of Baden decided to become a composer and boldly and hopefully set course for the world of music. However, she encountered resistance, just as Clara Schumann once did, and ultimately became submerged in the male domain. She also addressed this in her book "Memories of a Composer": "To point out the many difficulties that a lady faces in the field of musical composition, the envy and resentment of colleagues, as well as the prejudices and lack of understanding."
Prof. Gesa Lücker (University of Music and Dance Cologne) engages very intensively with the life and work of the composer and sheds new light on Le Beau’s work with this concert. Accompanied by texts and anecdotes from Le Beau’s book, you will experience a musical homage to an artist who deserves to be heard and celebrated.

“Double You” is an exciting and comedic circus experiment: because in this
performance two performances take place simultaneously! The audience is seated in two
groups facing each other – initially separated by a large curtain that obscures the first phase
of events on the other side. Shadows become visible again and again, mysterious sounds
filter over from the other side. Until eventually the curtain falls… The circus performance
plays with the principle of “Fear Of Missing Out,” the fear of missing something interesting. A
mix of impressive acrobatics, live music, humor, fun, and astonishment - without words. Be Flat
is a Belgian collective based in Ghent, consisting of street artists, circus performers,
acrobats, and musicians who travel with their productions all over Europe. For the young series
MOVE On, they are now also coming to Leverkusen.
