Die Ausstellung von Krzysztof Franaszek (PL) und Gereon Krebber (DE) widmet sich den Themen von Mutationen der Formen und dem Prozess der Bedeutungsbestimmung. Durch Schmelzen, Biegen, Quetschen und Tropfen verwandeln Franaszek und Krebber ursprüngliche Motive sowie Objekte und verwischen die Grenzen zwischen der künstlichen (oft städtischen) Welt und der Natur. Die Künstler lösen nicht nur klare skulpturale Formen auf, sondern spielen auch mit der Lesbarkeit und den konventionellen Bedeutungen der Dinge. All diese Mehrdeutigkeiten treffen in der Galerie des Polnischen Instituts in Düsseldorf zusammen und bilden dort eine Konstellation aus sich verschiebenden formalen Trennungen, ambivalenten Bedeutungen aber auch fließenden geopolitischen Abgrenzungen.

POLE-POSITION. Der „Polnische Projekttag für NRW-Schulen geht auf eine gemeinsame Initiative des Polnischen Instituts Düsseldorf und des Ministeriums für Schule und Weiterbildung NRW im Frühjahr 2005 zurück. Durch die konsequente Regularität und das Ansprechen aller Schulformen hat das Bildungsprojekt einen Ausnahme-Charakter erreicht.
Die inzwischen oft mehrmals im Monat stattfindende ganztägige – für die Schulen kostenfreie – Veranstaltung richtet sich an SchülerInnen ab der Sekundarstufe II, die sich für Austauschbesuche mit polnischen Schulen bzw. –Klassen vorbereiten wollen, oder die etwas mehr über Polen erfahren möchten. Die Projekteinheiten: Crashkurs durch die polnisch-deutsche Geschichte; Workshops Kulturelle Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen Polen und Deutschen; Junge Szene in Polen; Polen im Internet; Polnische Literatur; Schnupperkurs Polnisch; Landeskunde Polen; Politik: Polen-Deutschland-EU verschaffen den Schülerinnen und Schülern der weiterführenden Schulen einen attraktiv gestalteten, modernen und zugleich umfassenden Blick auf ihren Nachbarn.

„Antiqua und die englische Schrift“
Zweitägiger Kalligraphie-Workshop mit Warschauer Expertinnen
Lust auf eine Zeitreise? Als Briefe noch mit Feder und Tinte geschrieben wurden und das einmal geschriebene Wort nicht einfach gelöscht werden konnte. Der Kalligraphie-Workshop am 26. und 27. Oktober 2024 im Polnischen Institut Düsseldorf wird durch die erfahrenen Pädagoginnen und Kennerinnen der alten Schriftkultur, Ewa Behrens-Nowakowska und Małgorzata Ziemiańska vom Scriptorium Villa Nova im Museum des Schlosses König Johanns III. in Wilanów geleitet. Die Grundlage des Workshops bildet die 1833 erschienene Publikation „Polnische, französische, lateinische, deutsche und russische Kalligraphie für die polnische Jugend“. Das Handbuch enthält Muster der englischen Schrift und Beispiele für weitere verschiedene Schriftarten. Zudem zeigt es mit humorvollen Genreszenen die damaligen Gepflogenheiten. Als Teilnehmende lernt und übt ihr die englische Kursivschrift und vergleicht Buchstaben in den verschiedenen Alphabeten, um die Unterschiede in der Anpassung der lateinischen Schriftmuster an die nationalen Alphabete zu beobachten. Besonderer Fokus liegt dabei natürlich auf den deutschen und polnischen Alphabeten. Die Teilnahme an den Kalligraphie-Workshops ist kostenfrei, jedoch ist aufgrund der begrenzten Teilnehmerzahl eine Anmeldung nötig (siehe unten).
