A groove and pure live energy

When genuine friendships emerge from a shared enthusiasm for music, it often leads to more than just a project – it gives birth to a band.

Feeling Blue is built on exactly this foundation. Since 2021, the formation regularly performs on stages in and around Hildesheim, thrilling their audience with a powerful mix of funk, soul, pop, and jazz.

Surrounded by singer Ariane Stepen, the seven-member band combines catchy grooves with pointed brass arrangements from trumpet and saxophone. Well-known stylistic elements are reinterpreted, deconstructed, and brought together with great playfulness. The effectiveness of this concept was already evident in 2022: At the Hildesheim Music Grand Prix "hört!hört!", Feeling Blue won first place.
The band's music unfolds its full energy in the live moment. Improvisation, extended groove passages, and space for each individual instrument make their concerts vibrant musical experiences.

Inspired by artists such as Chaka Khan, Sammy Rae, and Ezra Collective, Feeling Blue has developed a new evening program in spring 2026. With this, they will take their audience on an atmospheric musical journey – right in their hometown of Hildesheim.
