That a thought giant like Olaf Schubert knows the answer to every question is considered basic knowledge. But now Schubert is taking the next big step. He asks questions. Important questions, like the one – “Jetzt oder now?”. So, a question that even asks questions. That the tail bites into the face here is the artist's innermost concern.
In passing, he has created a program title with an international sound with this question. From this, we recognize that Schubert is now multilingual – if not bilingual. Having arrived at the top of the iceberg of globalization, everything is now open to him. The whole world. But still, the exceptional artist remains true to us, as he also gives concerts in Germany, not many, but at least around 745. This shows he has achieved what few manage, to stay grounded despite the gigantic success. He wants to be an Olaf you can touch. Unfortunately, however, hardly anyone does this, as he recently confessed to a major news magazine. On stage, Schubert reinvents himself completely once again, and that’s why he remains exactly the same. He consistently follows his path, but he is not one to cross red lines. No – he undermines them. However, he jumps over yellow lines. As a result, he is able to shift boundaries, even invisible ones, in all directions at the same time.
How he accomplishes this, he probably does not even know himself. However, being able to observe him during his show is a grand fascination, because even this or that flat rocket will be launched during that time.
Therefore, almost everyone (even his grandma) who has ever experienced him live simply says deeply moved: Thank you, Olaf!
His friends Jochen M. Barkas and Mr. Stephan are, of course, there as always.
