To celebrate their 45th anniversary, the band from Philadelphia, USA, is coming to Germany in their jubilee year with the biggest hits of their long career, such as “Johnny B” and “All You Zombies”…. and also to the Honberg!
Founded in 1980, they quickly conquered the East Coast of the USA from Philadelphia. In 1987 they toured Germany for the first time. Keyboardist Rob Hyman and guitarist and singer Eric Bazilian wrote world hits like “All You Zombies” and “Johnny B.” as well as classics like “Day by Day,” “And We Danced,” “500 Miles,” “Karla With a K,” and “Satellite.” Their appearances as openers at the Live Aid concert in Philadelphia in 1985 and at Roger Waters' "The Wall" in Berlin in 1990 made the band world-famous and led to subsequent collaborations with the likes of Mick Jagger, U2, The Police, Bryan Adams, Jon Bon Jovi, Carole King, Robbie Williams, and The Scorpions. Above all, the Hooters remain a brilliant live act to this day with their fresh and powerful sound and hit-laden folk rock…
The Hooters guarantee an explosive mix of folk, reggae, rock, and ska. They also like to incorporate numerous hits that they have partly written for other artists (such as Cyndi Lauper's worldwide success “Time After Time,” Ricky Martin's “Private Emotion,” or Joan Osbourne's Grammy-nominated song “One Of Us”) into their live program…
Over the decades, Germany and the Honberg have become a second home for the band. At the opening of the 29th festival in the castle ruins, the band will deliver a first atmospheric highlight! “Come, get Hooterized!”
