Seraphina Kalze - Jetzt Fetzt! - Weihnachtsspecial
Moderator, musician, author, queen of jokes, entertainer: Seraphina Kalze is a true multi-talented individual. The trained radio and television presenter has been seen daily on Kabel Eins in the TV show 'Abenteuer Leben' since 2016 and has released four singles including videos with her own German-language pop songs over the past two years. Furthermore, her legendary jokes are extremely popular on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, with more than 600,000 loyal followers. Additionally, her first book is scheduled for release in autumn 2024, in which she reports on her challenging life between work and family, between public attention and domestic care. Because Seraphina Kalze is also, quite actively, a wife and mother of two daughters, sweet four and six years old, and is intensely caring for her sick father. She says: "On the one hand, family life grounds me and gives me a structure that I need for my inner balance. On the other hand, the double burden between professional and private duties costs an incredible amount of energy, both physically and mentally." From April 2024, the 40-year-old will go on tour to combine her diverse talents – including music, entertainment, communication, and humor – in a lively and varied entertainment show. The name of her program: 'Jetzt Fetzt!' A forward-looking title, as the native Hamburger reveals: "For me, the slogan 'Jetzt Fetzt!' stands as a call for a conscious life in the here and now. Through the early death of my mother and my father's serious illness, I had to learn how quickly everything can end or change dramatically. Also through my husband and children, I have learned that you should focus on the present and not postpone dreams or wishes. Of course, creativity also needs freedom, and I have always had to fight hard for that in my life." Such a pursuit undoubtedly costs a lot of energy, but it is a struggle that is worth it, thinks Seraphina. "I want to share this experience and my unbridled optimism, and that in a show that will primarily be humorous, but will also offer reflective viewpoints. The tour came about when a renowned organizer asked Seraphina if she would like to tell her jokes known from social media on stage. "I’m actually not a comedian," she says, recounting how the vague inquiry gradually developed into the idea of a colorful entertainment program: "I will perform some songs live with a guitarist and my keyboardist, who also acts as my sidekick. We will bring in a well-known 'regional' gem from the industry – in Berlin, that could also be my landlady, who has great stories to tell – in addition, there will be the category 'How does the world laugh,' where we will, for example, laugh along to 'Dancing Queen' by Abba or the Greek 'Sirtaki.' We will have a joke battle with someone from the audience, and we will let spontaneous ideas flow during the show." Spontaneity is a good keyword: Seraphina Kalze is the prototype of a modern, quick-witted, and courageous woman. Her editorial team at Kabel Eins knows that she acts intuitively in her moderation instead of merely reading texts from the teleprompter. In her social media work for the new show, with a small amplifier around her neck, she has entertained people in subways and on the street. Seraphina says: "I have no qualms about approaching people and love it when something goes straight to the point." And she shared the stage with news anchor and author Constantin Schreiber at a sold-out Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, where she told stories, sang, celebrated laughter yoga, and interviewed musicians. At the Elphi, she got to experience how wonderful direct audience contact can be: "I am very much looking forward to getting to know the audience personally on my own tour and combining everything that I have been doing since I was 15, namely music, moderation, and entertainment." In autumn 2024, another remarkable ability will be added: The woman from Halle an der Saale will publish her first book titled "Life is too short for a long face – My father and I in search of happiness," which she describes as "thoughts of an adult child who has abruptly lost their parents." It is her diverse media talents along with devoted care for her own family that make Seraphina Kalze so extraordinary and lovable.
