The story
London, 1872. In the Reform Club, the distinguished gentlemen are gathered and agree: To go around the world in 80 days – impossible. Phileas Fogg, an English gentleman with a stopwatch in his blood, counters: "I can do it." And bets £20,000 on it. A fortune. The clock starts ticking the moment he leaves his house. Fogg travels with his new servant Passepartout – and with all the modes of transportation the world had to offer in 1872: steamship, train, coach, even on the back of an elephant. Oceans, jungles, deserts, and big cities. They save a woman from a gruesome ritual along the way, encounter storms, and miss connections by a hair's breadth. To make matters worse, a detective is on their tail, believing Fogg to be a bank robber and determined to arrest him. In the end, the question is not who sees the world first. But who gets back on time. For if Fogg is even a minute late, he not only loses the bet. He loses his fortune. And his honor.
A musical – not a play with songs
In 80 Tagen um die Welt is a musical in the full sense: through-composed scenes, live numbers, choreographies, large images on stage. The material allows for this. In a story where an English gentleman crosses three continents in 80 days, the theater can think big.
Theater mit Horizont
Since 2007, Theater mit Horizont has been producing family musicals for large halls with Heimathafen Wien. Over 100,000 spectators per season. A distinctive signature in a segment where touring theaters can quickly become interchangeable. And: The ensemble has already been a guest in our town hall multiple times – those who have been there know the production standard.

• Older children from 6 years – the plot is denser, the duration is a little longer. For children making the leap from children's theater towards "real stage adventure."
