“Tod auf dem Nil” (Death on the Nile) is Agatha Christie's 22nd crime novel, published in 1937 in Great Britain.
Agatha Christie herself adapted the novel for the stage. On March 19, 1946, the play premiered in London’s West End under the title “Murder on the Nile.”
The film, featuring Peter Ustinov, Bette Davis, David Niven, Mia Farrow, Maggie Smith, Jane Birkin, and Angela Lansbury, hit theaters in 1978 and became a cinematic classic!
The film won the Oscar in 1979 for its costumes.
