For an audience aged 8 and up.

“No drop of water is left. They are leveling everything and cutting down the forest – we have to flee!”

The animals of Thalerwald are in an uproar, as their habitat is threatened. Even the last pond is being buried by a bulldozer - now the animals have no water left. And so they decide to leave their beloved home. But where to? A long, uncertain path full of adventures lies ahead for the eight mismatched animals. From now on, they know: they can only survive if they stick together.
What awaits them at the end of their journey?

A road movie with puppets, (live) video, music, and an uncertain outcome.

farm der tiere – das musical - punk-rock-musical von manuel de rien und oliver graf

The animals on Manor Farm are doing poorly.
Their daily food rations are meager and they must
work until they drop – or until they are killed.
When the farmer forgets to feed them one morning,
the animals start a rebellion: They chase him off
the farm and begin to organize and structure themselves –
with the goal of leading a friendly life
where all animals are equal. But the idyll
doesn't last long. Gradually, the pigs take over
the regime and expand their power further and further,
until it becomes clear: "All animals are equal,
but some animals are more equal than others."
For farm der tiere – das musical, the author team Manuel de Rien and Oliver Graf has come together again,
which was already responsible for the world premiere of the woyzeck musical in the 23_24 season.
In keeping with the rebellions and battles described in the piece, the music composed by Manuel de Rien
drives the characters through the evening.
George Orwell's political fable, published in 1945,
fits into any totalitarian system and addresses
themes such as oppression, power, abuse of power,
as well as the dream of freedom, equality, and
brotherhood. Written at the time as a reckoning with
the Russian Revolution and the terrible reign
of Stalin, strikingly many parallels can be drawn
to the present, making the material particularly
relevant again today.

Unter Tieren – Ein Wildpark-Abend über und mit Wolf, Schaf und Esel

Sure, the wolf is the star of the Mergentheim wildlife park! But aren’t sheep and donkeys perhaps the stars of the hearts? In any case, they evoke something in us; immediately, you picture these three animals in your mind and feel something in your stomach. Culturally, they have all left their marks on us through centuries of coexistence with humans. There is certainly enough material for three volumes that have been published in the beautiful animal studies series by Matthes & Seitz Berlin: finely illustrated cultural histories that tell much about the animals, but perhaps even more about ourselves. Let yourself be captivated by Petra Ahne (wolf), Eckhard Fuhr (sheep), and Jutta Person (donkey) as they tell live and on-site about what makes these four-legged friends so special. The questions will be asked by Katrin Schumacher (who is actually an accomplished fox expert!). And because an empty stomach is not keen on listening, the forest tavern in the wildlife park will provide a delicious snack included in the price.
