Jochen Malmsheimer - "Flieg Fisch, lies und gesunde! oder: Glück, wo ist Dein Stachel?!"
«Fly fish, read and be healthy! or: Happiness, where is your thorn?!»
We are just guests here. But we were invited! This is also a realization of the Bochum cabaret artist Jochen Malmsheimer, which plays no role in his cabaret program with the rather epic-sounding title: “Flieg Fisch, lies und gesunde! oder: Glück, wo ist Dein Stachel?!”
The similarities between a good, old Gruyere and Jochen Malmsheimer are becoming increasingly apparent: Malmsheimer is also getting riper, sharper, and crankier. And neither a trip into the blue nor a walk in the green helps, as zoo visits have long lost their calming effect due to the decision of many animal park directors to completely forgo cage populations for non-transparent reasons. Even the radio offers no consolation anymore, everyone does what they want. But what if one is not everyone? What will become of us if even men age?
Only science offers solace. Malmsheimer makes this painfully clear through the obvious connection between Egyptian and Lower Saxon cultural history. Until finally, the conspiracy of books, which he learns about by chance, reveals the secret of the solution to “Fly fish, read and be healthy ...” in a rapid finale.
Here, not only literature is unleashed, it is Malmsheimer himself. But he knows that we all long for a bit of happiness, especially in uncertain times. And so, a furious evening ends with a little poem about love. And about happiness. And about a little fish.
And so, in the end, there is hope.
For love.
And for happiness. And for fish.
