„Nora Nora Nora“ - Perspektiven einer radikalen Selbstfindung
Presented by the Women's Council of Waiblingen
as part of the program for International Women's Day 2026 under the motto #EachForEqual
The Schwanen Waiblingen invites – together with the Women's Council – for reflection, discussion, and further thinking: On March 27, 2026, when the theater group Grenzgänge presents their piece „Nora Nora Nora“ at the Kulturhaus Schwanen, literary history meets current societal questions. What Henrik Ibsen addressed in 1879 in „Nora (A Doll's House)“ unfolds in the new adaptation by author Eva Rottmann an unexpected contemporary energy: How free is the woman of today really – between care work, career, pandemic experiences, and equality debates?
A stage, three women, countless facets of a question: How does the modern 1000-options society deal with the realization of being far from an equal distribution of roles?
What Henrik Ibsen negotiated 140 years ago with the female figure Nora, the equality in society and family, has gained a new urgency. In the tension between comfort zone, powerlessness, justice, and appreciation, the theater group Grenzgänge thinks up new narratives and tests positions, relationships, and views on one’s own life. «Maybe you are the freest woman of us all. Nora, Nora, Nora. I would so love to know what has become of you. The repetition disguises itself as the wonderful. And we sit on the balconies and applaud.» In the face of millions of essential women, the question arises: What do we need to think of a new distribution of roles?
«Nora, Nora, Nora. We are not one and the same person. We are possibilities. Perspectives of a radical self-discovery.»
