QUEEN OF SAND - IRINA TITOVA - „In 80 Bildern um die Welt“
„In 80 Bildern um die Welt“ – The magical sand journey is entering its final round
She is back – and perhaps for the last time: Irina Titova, the celebrated "Queen of Sand," returns to the stage with her successful production "In 80 Bildern um die Welt." Due to overwhelming audience demand, this extraordinary sand painting show will be performed one last time – a final rendezvous with a journey that has enchanted thousands of people.
Inspired by Jules Verne's literary classic "Around the World in Eighty Days," Titova has created a poetic homage that takes us around the globe, not only geographically but also emotionally. In 80 impressive sand images, she takes the audience on an adventure full of longing, discovery, and magic.
A trip around the world – with sand and soul
From the sparkling skyline of New York, it goes through the expanses of the desert to the pyramids of Egypt. Irina’s sand figures stroll through Paris, greet from Venice, ride on elephants in India, and fly over the rooftop of the world. It is a visual world journey that touches, delights, and enchants.
With breathtaking speed, Irina brings a world of sand to life on a illuminated glass plate, while her images are projected live onto a large screen. What was just an Asian pagoda transforms in the next moment into an African village or a sailing ship on a stormy sea. Her hands fly over the surface, the sand trickles, dances, pulses – and becomes history.
After the great success of her last production "The Fabulous World of Film – Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," which was celebrated with standing ovations in 2025, Irina now returns with the show that established her international reputation. A worthy conclusion to her world wanderings before she dedicates herself to new creative projects.
The sand journey is once again accompanied by the impressive voice of the well-known voice actor Joachim Kerzel, who creates emotional depth with his deep, compelling narration. The texts are by Katrin Wiegand and Katrin Edtmeier, who also directs. The atmospheric soundtrack – curated by Austrian musician Cosy Famous (Wolfgang Linhart) – spans a musical arc from James Horner to The Doors to Ennio Morricone.
Irina Titova, who during the pandemic's quiet years not only found love but also became a mother, shows once again with this show: Art knows no boundaries. As a convinced pacifist, she moves us with images that do not need words – yet resonate deeper than many stories.
„In 80 Bildern um die Welt“ is more than a show. It is a visual world journey – full of colors, even though made of sand. Full of sound, even though no word is said too much. A journey that reminds us how precious each moment is – because it never comes back. And yet it remains. Anyone who has ever experienced the "Queen of Sand" live knows: Every moment with her is a gift.
