Tabasco meets Momo - Live 2026
Momo
Since their debut album Nu Funk in Town, the full-blooded musicians of MOMO and the grey gentlemen have continuously unleashed new, handmade, and massive songs onto the city. Cheerful and unique feel-good funk alternates with deep and expansive soul ballads. The original compositions draw from a wide spectrum of funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop, but are neither too profane nor too cerebral. The result is a diverse blend of hip-swaying, wonder, head-nodding, and dreaming. One thing runs through it all like a red thread: it is the pure joy and passion for authentic live music, which can be seen directly on the “MOMOs” on stage.
What began with crazy gigs in shared flats and mensa parties has found its firm place in festivals and clubs in the region since at least 2018. MOMO and the grey gentlemen have already inspired the audience at the Tent Music Festival in Freiburg multiple times with their energy and joy of playing. And in July 2025, they will also perform at the popular Pinot and Rock Festival in Breisach. Before that, the band managed to stand out in the talent contest of the Pinot and Rock Festival, convincing both fans in the online voting and the renowned expert jury from the music and event industry.
The band, which consists of up to 9 members, has been around for several years with hardly any changes in lineup. This cohesion is directly transferred from the stage to the dance floor by "the MOMOs," taking the audience on a journey through perfectly timed arrangements, wild solos, and emotional ballads. As soon as the MC belts out his lines, carried by the honest sound of real instruments, even the last ones are swept away and convinced: Funk & Soul is not a relic of the 60s & 70s. It is here today, it is authentic, it is fat, it is fresh, it is energy, dance, and joy. That is MOMO and the Grey Gentlemen from Freiburg.
Tabasco
Over 50 years of funk-rock-soul: TABASCO is one of the longest-standing formations in Germany. The 11-member formation from Freiburg is notorious for their peppery live sound on stage. The ingredients are always the same: captivating vocals, extra sharp rhythm section, rich brass lines, fluid improvisations from soft to hard. Together with some young talents, the indomitable veterans play a vibrant power-rock-jazz that radiates a zest for life and music: Freiburg's funky little Big Band.
The Band: Pia Zaschke, Fritz Schillinger, Oliver Brümmer - vocals; Ralph Bögelsack - drums; Detlef Seifert - bass; Wolfgang Gottwalt - keyboards; Wolfgang Steinicke - guitar; Michael Trützler - tenor-sax; Elmar Lehmann - baritone-sax; Reinhard Stephan - trumpet; Ingo Ganter - trumpet
