True Crime mit Prof. Dr. Klaus Püschel
As part of the "Blood Trails Tour 2026," the KÖRPERWELTEN exhibition invites you to a special True Crime event in the historic women's bath in Heidelberg. On stage, guests can expect the internationally renowned forensic expert Prof. Dr. Klaus Püschel, who, in honor of his 50th career anniversary, will provide exclusive insights into his most spectacular cases and the world of forensic medicine.
For decades, the former head of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Hamburg has been regarded as one of Germany's most prominent forensic experts. He has been involved in numerous high-profile investigations: he conducted the autopsy on politician Uwe Barschel in 1987, investigated the horrific case of Yagmur involving severe abuse of a three-year-old girl, and contributed to the reopening of the so-called "bathtub murder" case of Manfred Genditzki, who was ultimately exonerated after years of wrongful imprisonment. Püschel also played a crucial role in the notorious Göhrde murders in Lower Saxony, which shook Germany in the 1980s. In addition, he served as an expert witness in the Kachelmann trial and made a name for himself internationally – including through autopsies in Africa, the Middle East, and the investigation of war and genocide crimes.
In Heidelberg, Prof. Püschel will share these and other extraordinary cases, explain how modern forensic medicine works, and demonstrate how scientific precision contributes to solving crimes. The audience will experience firsthand how crime scenes are reconstructed, causes of death determined, and culprits apprehended. This True Crime special promises deep insights into real criminal cases and pure excitement. The unique aspect: all the crimes discussed involve cases in which Prof. Püschel participated as a forensic expert. Topics will include serial murders, sexual offenses, cold cases, and wrongfully convicted individuals.
The audience can look forward to a captivating lecture that bridges science and true crime – filled with exciting stories, moving destinies, and impressive insights into the search for truth.
The ticket price includes admission to KÖRPERWELTEN Heidelberg! For this event, the exhibition will remain exclusively open until midnight.
The evening will be moderated by True Crime talker Dr. Tino Grosche.
