Asses Of Fire – The Turbonegro Show
Songs from the Hank Years
It was 1988 when a few crazy dudes met in a shabby basement in Oslo to form a band. It was originally supposed to be named Nazipenis, then they settled on Bullfighting. However, this didn't go over well in Norway, so after just one single, they changed their name to – ta-da: TURBONEGRO. When asked what the name was supposed to mean, Happy Tom once replied: “The full name of our band is TURBONEGRO, but we are gutless wimps, so we spell it TRBNGR. A Turbonegro is a large well-equipped, armed black male, in a fast car, out for vengeance. We are his prophets.”
And thus, one of the best European rock bands ever was born, set out to kick the world in the ass with a unique mix of punk, glam, boogie, hard rock, and bisexual energy. Disbanded twice, resurrected twice.
Many years ago, during TURBONEGRO’s first break, six guys came together for the band's 20th anniversary, believing that the legacy of Hank von Helvete & Co. should live on live: ASSES OF FIRE – a bunch of square dudes who had previously been involved in Robert & The Roboters, Free Little Pigs, Slow Death, or Wet 69. Since then, there have been AOF shows at select occasions that resonate deeply with even hardcore TRBNGR fans.
Doors open at 7 PM, standing room.
