MARTIN BRUCKER - Multivisionsvortrag - Yukon im Winter
In 2014, during his world trip, Martin Brucker stopped by Alex (Alyxmoto) Guth in Seattle at his motorcycle workshop. While performing maintenance on his motorcycle for the onward journey, Alex mentioned his dream of riding through the Yukon in winter up to the Arctic Ocean to Tuktoyaktuk. Martin, in his naivety, replied without much thought, "Okay Alex, when you are planning the trip, let me know - I'm in."
From 2017, the planning for the winter tour through the Yukon up to the Arctic Ocean to Tuktoyaktuk began. Equipment was organized, the departure date had to be postponed several times due to Covid, and ultimately set for February 2022.
Shortly before Martin's flight to Calgary, the news came from Alex that the Northwest Territories were still closed due to Covid. Alex then suggested offering his two motorcycle sidecars for testing the equipment. Once on the road, Alex and Martin drove all the way to Dawson City, the starting point on the Dempster Highway, the road up to Tuktoyaktuk at the Arctic Ocean. Unfortunately, it was still closed in 2022 due to Covid. So they returned back to Calgary.
In January 2025, it was time again; the planning was in place. The problem this time was that Martin could not import his motorcycle to Canada. The tour was once again on the verge of another postponement. But this time, Alex and Martin received great support. BMW Motorrad Canada provided two GS 900s for the tour and Touratech agreed to equip them, so on January 17, 2025, they set off on icy roads up to the Arctic Ocean to Tuktoyaktuk.
After days of riding down to -37 degrees, a flat tire, moose and buffalo sightings, icy roads, blizzard warnings, and road closures, Alex and Martin stood on February 9, 2025, in front of the famous sign at the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk.
