But not only on television do the Germans catch a whiff of the big wide world. Neckermann makes it possible, and the white giant lends a helping hand to housewives. Klementine fiddles with washing machines, and Tilly smooths out every wrinkle with Palmolive dish soap…

Teenagers dream only of the Beatles, dance the Twist until their knees crack, and seek advice and help from Bravo. The parents diligently continue to work on the economic miracle. You can build on these stones…

VW Beetle and danced the economic Cha-Cha. The young girls dreamed in the milk bar of "Sugar Baby" Peter Kraus, and the tough guys in studded pants dreamed of the portable radio and motorcycle. Bill Ramsey promoted "Souvenirs" on the new television or invited the "sugar doll from the belly dance troupe" to a vacation in Bella Italia. Yes, yes - "Tschau Tschau Bambina"!

Back then we created the economic miracle and dreamed of the South. Today we fly to the South and dream of the economic miracle. The first vacations to sunny Italy, the first BMW Isetta, the first television, cellar parties with cheese hedgehogs and crackers, or alternatively a “Toast Hawaii” from TV chef Clemens Wilmenrod! All this garnished with the wonderful Schlager gems of that time.
