ULRICH TUKUR & DIE RHYTHMUS BOYS - 30 Jahre: Tohuwabohu! - das neue Programm
Those who wish to escape the chaos of the world enter the fantastic Tohuwabohu that Europe's most beautiful dance band has specially prepared for you.
Replacement date for December 16, 2025
What chaos it was, what a fantastic mess, when the Rhythmus Boys first took the concert stage thirty years ago and unleashed a whirlwind of enthusiasm and total confusion!
None of the four mastered their instrument, but wit, cultivated unruliness, and excellent looks compensated for all musical deficits.
This has changed over the years. Meanwhile, the gentlemen sing and play far better than they look; unruliness has turned into craziness and cheerful disorder, making an evening with the Rhythmus Boys resemble the last tumultuous concert in a dilapidated, condemned variety theater.
“Tohuwabohu!” symbolically represents the long, successful journey Ulrich Tukur and the Rhythmus Boys have undertaken, making them unique in the history of popular music. What would life be like without the weightless music of this quartet, which has understood for almost a lifetime how to transform darkness into light, distress into hope, and sadness into great cheer?
Join us for a walk in dance steps of cheerful rhythms, and experience a fireworks display of enchanting melodies that dissolve the paralyzing contradictions of our lives into grace and harmony. Don’t miss what could permanently change your existence: distinguished dance music, refined refrain singing, top-notch instruments, elegant clothing, and good presence. German-speaking and international repertoire. In addition to Italian and French world-class hits, spectacular new arrangements will take your breath away, and you will say to yourself: until now, I have only existed, but now I live!

Ulrich Tukur (vocals, piano, accordion), Ulrich Mayer (guitar, ukulele, vocals), Günter Märtens (double bass, vocals, dance), and Kalle Mews (drums, vocals, sounds) always await their audience well-groomed and elegantly dressed. Their promise goes far beyond the graceful arrangement of well-sounding notes.
Tukur's original words: “The decorative physical presence of us four sound and vibration generators enhances an acoustic experience that represents a paradigm shift in the world of elevated entertainment music, one not seen since the displacement of the bombardón by the double bass.”
“Anyone who does not feel good after such a concert probably has no moods at all.”
Süddeutsche Zeitung Online
“Tukur loves the absurd; that is his métier; here he is at home. The artificially amateurish playing and fabulously singing quartet creates the best musical mood. Tukur and the Boys present themselves as comic figures. This mix of nonsense, silliness, and slapstick fits perfectly with the pent-up entertainment deficit of the audience.”
Rheinische Post
“Tukur's formidable dance band can simply do everything, swing, jazz, and even rock. In original arrangements, they reinterpret classics or present cheeky original compositions. With a mischievous smile, Tukur tells supposedly anecdotal tales from his life. These become fantastic little arabesques full of poetry and subtlety, always very close to Baron Munchausen. In the end, there are standing ovations.”
Münchner Merkur
“Delightfully old-fashioned and exuberant. Ulrich Tukur has a heart for the dance music of the 1920s to 1940s. Add a few beautifully spun ideas and the Rhythmus Boys, and the evening becomes a grand pleasure.”
Bonner Generalanzeiger
“Besides the casual music, which Tukur skillfully garnishes with champagne-spritzed melodic arcs, it is his humorous introductions between extravagant nonsense and quite interesting information. A musical menu that surprised with captivating freshness.”
WAZ
“The confusion is the program here, as Tukur celebrates with his three congenial musical companions, the Rhythmus Boys, etudes of intelligent nonsense. Thus, the four swing, foxtrot, and rock’n’roll their way through the history of dance music. High and low meet calculatedly and artistically, poetry and flat jokes rapidly alternate. Tukur is amused; his conference oscillates between exalted and eccentric.”
