Tingvall Trio - PAX Tour 2026

For more than two decades, the Tingvall Trio has been a reliable guarantee for captivating piano trio jazz with catchy melodies and powerful rhythms. Tom Gaebel And His Trio - “A Swinging Affair! The American Songbook And Beyond“

Tom Gaebel has always been regarded as a man for the big stage. He sings the big songs and he sings them with big ensembles, with a big band or orchestra. This is how he is known and loved since he was catapulted into the German music scene in 2005 through Stefan Raab's "TV TOTAL."

With “A Swinging Affair!, unusually intimate - accompanied only by a trio consisting of piano, bass, and drums - Tom Gaebel sings and swings through this vast and magnificent repertoire, and you can immediately tell, a heartfelt wish is coming true! "For me, these songs are the starting point of everything I have to say as a singer. Whether it’s "Night And Day," "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," or "My Funny Valentine," these are the songs my idols have sung and with which I became a singer. And I finally allow myself the great joy of dedicating an entire evening to this music!” A considerable challenge, as the bar is understandably set very high where the best of the best have drawn from for decades. And the deliberately sought minimal setup with no room for hiding - all this can indeed be intimidating. However, Tom Gaebel knows what matters: "The smaller the band, the better each musician has to be. And I am fortunate to have three young gentlemen behind me who, like only a very few musicians - even viewed internationally - can play this music authentically. They not only understand it, but they breathe it and bring it to life!" Jerry Lu on piano, Stefan Rey on double bass, and Niklas Walter on drums are each exceptional talents in their own right and yet can simultaneously stand behind a sound idea and restrain themselves when needed. "To perfectly accompany a singer, to support him without overshadowing him, to bring the music to the forefront, not the own ego - this is not easy with so much talent. What is soul? An exhilarating music style, an overwhelming feeling, the unmistakable essence that defines us - each of these definitions applies to the Matti Klein Soul Trio. Since 2017, three kindred spirits have joined forces in the name of groove, embarking on a distinct path beyond the heavily trodden routes of Hammond organ trios. At the center are the warm Wurlitzer sounds of internationally renowned bandleader Matti Klein, who has shared stages with the funk-jazz formation Mo' Blow and the Brazilian yacht-pop heavyweight Ed Motta in the major jazz clubs of New York, Tokyo, London, and Paris. In the lower register, a modified 1973 Fender Rhodes piano-bass provides a comforting tingle, while Lars Dieterich on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet not only delivers expressive solos in the wake of Stanley Turrentine and Maceo Parker but also serves as an additional synth player and bassist. Drummer André Seidel gives the trio its buoyant rhythm, allowing even complex odd meters to groove effortlessly. The Berliners have given well over 300 concerts worldwide - from Haiti to South Africa to Malaysia. Their music organically combines vibrant soul-jazz and the instrumental funk of The Meters with hip-hop elements and spacey post-rock. Jazzwise magazine states: "A new, smokin' hot twist on the much-loved organ trio format. They deserve to be huge everywhere!"

Trilok Gurtu "This has a Beat!"

The world-class drum virtuoso Trilok Gurtu has collaborated with many stars of the music scene throughout his long career, shaping their sound. John McLaughlin, in whose trio Trilok shone as a soloist for four years, made him globally famous as a drummer. But also renowned musicians like Joe Zawinul, Jan Garbarek, Don Cherry, Bill Evans, Pat Metheny, Pharoah Sanders, Bill Laswell, Annie Lennox, Gianna Nannini, Martin Grubinger, and Dave Holland were all fascinated by Trilok’s captivating sense of rhythm and engaged him for their projects. Deeply rooted in Indian tradition, it is no surprise that he also collaborated with prominent figures in the Indian music scene – including his mother Shobha Gurtu, Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariprasad Chaurasia, the Misra Brothers, and Sultan Khan. World music has developed into an established genre in which Trilok has carved out his individual path with his own group – with great success. He has performed with Salif Keita, Oumou Sangare, Angelique Kidjo, Neneh Cherry, Youssou N'Dour, Omara Portuondo, and the Tuvan throat singers Huun Huur Tu, and tours worldwide with the jazz group Oregon, the Jan Garbarek Group, or Zakir Hussain. Trilok Gurtu was born into a musical family in Bombay, India. His grandfather was a renowned sitar player, and his mother, Shobha Gurtu, was a celebrated classical singer. With his unique genius, which has significantly shaped the sound and music of some of his musician colleagues like John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Dave Holland, or Jan Garbarek, Trilok Gurtu continually cements his reputation as one of the greatest innovators in the art of percussion. Although his playing and composition style is not confined to a specific genre, it is based on a solid and deep understanding of many global styles. His drumming and compositions are universal, personal, and marked by immense passion and discipline. With Trilok Gurtu, a true star of jazz and world music will grace the stage of the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus in Ottobrunn for the 9th Classical & Beyond of the Ottobrunner Konzerte.
