Tingvall Trio - PAX Tour 2026
For more than two decades, the Tingvall Trio has been a reliable guarantee for captivating piano trio jazz with catchy melodies and powerful rhythms. Eight times, their productions have been awarded the Jazz Award in Gold and once in Platinum. Their last album "Birds" again reached No.1 in the German Jazz Charts, and sold-out concerts across Europe are a testament to the popularity of the three Hamburg residents.
In preparation for the new longplayer "Pax," the trio embarked on a concert tour comprising more than 20 dates at the beginning of the year, after which the three went directly to their favorite studio, ARTE SUONO by sound engineer Stefanio Amerio in Italy. The result is an album that sounds nearly as energetic yet also fragile as a live concert. Never before has the trio been captured so unembellished in the studio, whether in touching ballads like "A Promise" or typical TT-going numbers like "Cruisin."
The album title "Pax" is deliberately chosen, as Martin Tingvall explains: "In a world full of unrest and increasing societal polarization, it was particularly important to me to make a statement for peace with our music. With our album 'Birds,' we already tried to musically reflect the disturbing developments of our time. Since then, much has continued to change negatively in the world. As a musician, I don't want to watch this silently. PAX should inspire reflection, invite calm—and be a clear sign for peace." "Pax" will be released in the usual formats CD / LP and DIGITAL, as well as in a Limited LP Edition, which includes not only the three tracks missing from the "normal vinyl edition" due to playtime reasons but also a special Rhodes version of the successful TT classic "Hummingbird," a true bonus for collectors.
From autumn, the trio will of course bring the new work live to stages across Europe and once again prove to listeners that they are among the best that European jazz has to offer, surely also explicitly connected with the compelling message contained in tracks like "A New Hope," "Shadows," "A Promise," or "The End."
