My Heart will go on - Muttertagskonzert
„My heart will go on“
Mother's Day concert of the euregio oratorio choir & friends
May 10, 2026, Cultural and Congress Forum Altötting
With this concert project, the euregio oratorio choir brings together generations. “Children sing for their mothers,” with this slogan, the concert choir invites children, teenagers, and adults to stand together with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic on the grand stage of the Cultural and Congress Forum to showcase melodies from film and musical. Through film music, emotions are intensified and recall shared cinema visits or movie nights. The most significant blockbusters thrive on a recognizable melody and instantly evoke images of scenes, such as “My heart will go on” from Titanic. Particularly, John Williams and Hans Zimmer enchant young and old with catchy tunes from Harry Potter, E.T., Star Wars, Inception, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Dune.
A unique experience to experience this music without film and, with closed eyes, recall scenes and, above all, emotions because film should not only serve entertainment but also addresses controversial, historical, or thought-provoking topics, even if sometimes fictional or “packaged.” Melodies from films like “Schindler's List” or “Conquest of Paradise” are indispensable - especially in “Conquest of Paradise,” the power of music is evident, which celebrated worldwide success in contrast to the film. Musical melodies from “Jesus Christ Superstar” or “Over the Rainbow” incorporate religious and cultural elements in this concert. Music speaks all languages and thus stands in this program of the euregio oratorio choir FOR communication and tolerance AGAINST discord and prejudices.
