Kammerkonzert mit dem Duo Amie - „Shall we dance?“
A chamber concert of a special kind will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 7:30 PM in the picturesque setting of the Wasserschloss Bad Rappenau. Listen to the Boston-based "Duo Amie," consisting of Julie Reimann on cello and Ellyses Kuan on piano, and look forward to a world of dances from renowned composers.
Following Tchaikovsky's "Valse Sentimentale," a melancholic yet wonderfully romantic piece, is Chopin's second waltz from Opus 34. In Camille Saint-Saëns' "Danse Macabre," we encounter the typical dark dance motif for the dance of death.
Florence Price's enchanting composition "Elfentanz," Béla Bartók's "Romanian Folk Dances," and Johannes Brahms' "Hungarian Dance No. 5," inspired by the Hungarian folk dance Csárdás, are compositions influenced by folk music.
The second part of the evening is dedicated to Latin American music and begins with Maurice Ravel's "Pièce en Forme de Habanera." This composition is followed by the "Danzas Latinoamericanas," a suite by the Mexican composer José Elizondo. The passionate Argentine tango of the first movement is followed by melodies influenced by Bossa Nova. The lively music of the third movement is inspired by the Mexican Jarabe folk dance and the sound of mariachi music. The concert concludes with "Le Grand Tango," Astor Piazzolla's only original composition for cello and piano.
