Korora & Alex Stolze
On April 16, Korora and Alex Stolze invite you to an evening of refined acoustic-electronic music at Nachtasyl. Hand-played sounds meet real emotions and dance-inviting beats.
Alex Stolze is a prominent voice in contemporary electronic music. As a violinist, producer, and composer, he has built a strong live reputation with numerous concerts throughout Europe – notably known for projects like Bodi Bill and Dictaphone.
His performances place the violin at the center of an electronic setup. With loops, effects, synthesizers, and beats, an immediate, physical sound emerges, where the instrument is not quoted but renegotiated – raw, present, and changeable.
The last two releases on the label Neue Meister mark a clear artistic intensification: a reduced, personal aesthetic between structure and openness, characterized by emotional density and sonic precision.
The live concerts consistently continue this approach. They are intense, approachable, and open to the moment – each concert is an independent, lively experience in direct exchange with the audience.
Korora's electronic music is both melancholic and hopeful. The title of the debut EP fits well: Hopium. Previous tracks have already received recognition from established artists such as Christian Löffler, Ben Lukas Boysen, and Ólafur Arnalds.
Those who regularly attend electronic concerts may have already experienced Korora on stage before Catching Flies, Nils Hoffmann, or il:lo. The performances are characterized by an expressive performance, centered around a synthesizer case on which the music is played live – without laptops, without nets, and without a double bottom.
At Nachtasyl, the setup is complemented by additional instruments, including a specially developed glockenspiel organ, which has already been played by Lisa Morgenstern at the Elbphilharmonie as a loan. In total, this creates a unique sound that is both dreamily atmospheric and dynamically energetic.
The EP Hopium will be released on April 10 on the London label Blank Dust. On April 16, we will celebrate the release together.
Doors open: 8:00 PM
