Klaus Lage & Bo Heart - ZU ZWEIT. LIVE.
KLAUS LAGE presents - together with his longtime band member and friend BO HEART - his songs in an unusual style. He sings songs from his over 40-year-long career up to pieces from the current album. Concerts by KLAUS LAGE with BO HEART have left enthusiastic audiences at over 200 performances so far. Currently, the two are reviving the concept and presenting with
“ZU ZWEIT. LIVE.” both the classics and current songs from the singer's pen. Of course, the hits with which KLAUS LAGE made a name for himself are also on the setlist. BO HEART on piano stages the songs in a way that couldn't be more impressive. Live and pure: the piano and the voice. This special formation highlights the qualities of the singer as well as those of the exceptional pianist BO HEART. Each title, whether rock song or ballad, takes on a new dimension here. Naturally, transparent arrangements in the program invite one to listen and enjoy a voice that is unparalleled in Germany. But no one has to miss out on German-language rock songs, to which KLAUS LAGE belongs as a pioneer, because BO "Boogie" HEART, a specialist in groove and musicality, always gets the audience on their feet.
Biography
KLAUS LAGE was born on June 16, 1950, in Soltau. Stages: Training as a merchant, relocation to Berlin in the early 70s, retraining as an educator, later a social worker. In the mid-70s, he played with his “Berliner Rockensemble” in the rock and blues clubs of the capital. His first albums are “Musikmaschine” (1980) and “Positiv” (1982). After his career visibly gains momentum with his 3rd album “Stadtstreicher” (1983), he achieves great success with the release of “Schweißperlen” (1984) and the extracted “1001 Nacht”, establishing himself as a fixed presence in the German rock scene. This status is solidified through his hits “Faust auf Faust” (extracted from the album “Heisse Spuren” and title song for the first Schimanski film), “Monopoli”, “Mit meinen Augen” or “Weil Du anders bist” (duet with Irene Grandi, from the '94 album “Katz und Maus”).
Above all, through his countless concerts and tours, where he continually proves what a grand singer and captivating live performer he is.
In the musical “Stars”, KLAUS LAGE plays the title role between November 1995 and autumn 1996. The performances at the Theater Nordhausen are sold out from the premiere onwards. In 1994, he made headlines with the release of his now 11th album “Katz und Maus” (East West Records) and an extensive Germany tour with the band. The Walt Disney Studios hired him in 1996 for their sensational film project “Toy Story”. KLAUS LAGE translates and interprets the film songs of Randy Newman. The first fully computer-animated feature film becomes a massive success.
In April 1999, the album “LIVE ZU ZWEIT” is released by East West Records. “LIVE ZU ZWEIT” is a concert recording of the duo program with BO HEART, which receives positive feedback from both the audience and critics alike. This is followed by the CDs “Mensch bleiben” (2000), “Die Welt ist schön!” (2003), “Zug um Zug” (2006). In 2008, two new albums are released simultaneously: a double CD (“Beste Lage”) with 38 titles selected by the artist himself from his career, as well as the highly praised work “nah & wichtig” recorded with his new band.
In 2011, he again released 2 albums within a year: in spring, the band production “Der Moment”, and in autumn, the solo live CD “Alleingang” (EMI). In 2013 and 2015, “Zeitreisen” (solo, live) and “Neuauflage” were released, followed by the celebrated quartet recording “Blaue Stunde”.
In 2018, KLAUS LAGE fulfilled his long-held dream with the CD “Das Big Band Projekt” to release his songs in big band arrangements. Recorded in a classic swing format with piano, double bass, and drums, he released the album “Nachtschwärmer” in 2021. With “Je wahrer die Liebe”, an album featuring 13 mostly new songs was released in 2022.
BO HEART (keyboard and vocals) has already proven his singer/songwriter qualities with 2 solo albums (“Invitation”/WEA + “In my Arms”/LAMU Records - BMG Ariola). In December 2001, he entered the charts with his project “4 Your Soul” (including with Edo Zanki, Xavier Naidoo).
