RAY WILSON, the former singer of GENESIS, presents the band's greatest hits and highlights from his solo career.
Varied song structures from the band's progressive rock era, as well as the pop hits from the 1970s to 1990s, merge into different arrangements - a new dimension of GENESIS, without losing the original character of the songs. The unique voice of RAY WILSON, who alone sang on the most recent GENESIS album "CALLING ALL STATIONS," which became the band's fourth best-selling album in its history.
Twenty years after the release of "CALLING ALL STATIONS," RAY WILSON and his band will present the best tracks from it. In his repertoire, he naturally includes all the hits like "CONGO," "NOT ABOUT US," "SHIPWRECKED," as well as popular live songs such as "THE DIVIDING LINE," which stands out with its powerful drum solo and the giant duel of lead guitars. This also includes the title track "CALLING ALL STATIONS," along with other GENESIS classics like "NO SON OF MINE," "CARPET CRAWLERS," "MAMA," and his own solo career songs.
"CALLING ALL STATIONS" was the last studio album of one of the best and most successful rock bands of all time. Consequently, GENESIS was inducted into the famous "Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame" as an important and influential band, having sold over 150 million records worldwide.
The year 2016 was a very special one for RAY WILSON and his band. Two new solo albums were released - the acoustic "SONG FOR A FRIEND" and the electric "MAKES ME THINK OF HOME."
RAY WILSON, awarded by the "Classic Rock Magazine" as one of Britain's top-class singers, is known for his strong stage presence and inspiring performances. His show promises a unique concert experience for anyone who appreciates good live music.
RAY WILSON's international music career began in 1994 with the grunge sensation STILTSKIN, when he stormed the charts with the number one hit "INSIDE." The song ran for years as a global TV commercial for the jeans company "Levi’s." In 1997, the Scotsman then became a member of the British rock legend GENESIS, where he replaced Phil Collins as the singer. With the jointly produced GENESIS album "CALLING ALL STATIONS," they embarked on a successful stadium tour throughout Europe and North America.
After the dissolution of GENESIS, RAY WILSON played in Germany with music greats such as Marius Müller-Westernhagen and the Turntablerocker. He shared the stage with the Scorpions and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for the opening concert of the EXPO World Exhibition in Hannover.
In 2003, RAY WILSON released his first solo album "CHANGE" and presented it during his tour - with over 50 shows in Germany alone - together with Joe Jackson and the band SAGA. For the song "YET ANOTHER DAY" from the same album, he collaborated with the Dutch star DJ Armin Van Buuren; the song effortlessly reached number one on the dance charts. RAY WILSON went on a European tour in the following years with Dolores O'Riordan from THE CRANBERRIES and SUPERTRAMP frontman Roger Hodgson.
RAY WILSON is considered a charismatic exceptional singer, and with his strong stage presence, he has made a name for himself worldwide as an excellent entertainer. With typical Scottish serenity, he combines the energy of rock music with complex lyrics.
With the new double album "UPON MY LIFE," RAY WILSON releases his songs from the last 20 years post-GENESIS, in which he has co-written and recorded nine studio albums, including solo, STILTSKIN, and CUT albums. "UPON MY LIFE" captures the abundance of memories and emotions of the unique and impressive career of the Scottish singer. The album includes two brand new tracks: "COME THE END OF THE WORLD" and "I WAIT AND I PRAY." Both songs are inspired by the politically perplexed, ecologically changed, and polarizing world in which we now live.
