KuSch goes Varieté, Vol. 19 - mit Marcel Kösling, Anastasiia Popsulys, Maxim Voronin, dem Duo Mimikry und dem Duo Jordanella
Since 2008, there have been variety evenings at KuSch, and they have since found an ever-growing audience. Back then, we tried to add another splash of color to the already broad spectrum. With "KuSch goes Varieté," something started that none of us knew where the journey would lead. Now the 19th edition of this concept is upon us, which has evidently established itself. For several years now, the evenings have always been sold out in advance, and in 2018, Sunday afternoons were added as a date for a third show.
The success is also due to the fact that the audience experiences a program that is not inferior to those in the GOP houses, the Krystallpalast, or the Tigerpalast. The shows can only be experienced in Herborn, which makes them even more unique.
In 2027, we have selected the following artists for you:
The evening will be hosted by Marcel Kösling, the all-purpose weapon of the German cabaret scene – and with a grand mix of comedy, magic, and cabaret that guarantees no one will be looking at their watch. With his unmistakable humor, charming stories, and magical surprises, Kösling engages you (yes, you!) in thought, laughter, and wonder. Balancing sharp-witted punchlines and astonishing illusions, he manages to question the jungle of our everyday life with a wink and bring the big and small moments of life into focus.
An evening with Marcel Kösling is more than just entertainment – it is an experience that stays in the memory. Whether a comedy fan, magic lover, or cabaret expert: every second with him is a gain, and he proves that humor and magic are the best medicine against the stress of daily life.
Veronica Fontanella and Andy Jordan met at the State School for Circus Arts in Berlin. Since then, they have been traveling the world as Duo Jordanella. With elegance, creativity, and courage, they present artistic feats and delight audiences worldwide with their passion for circus arts. Andy Jordan hails from Austria. His passion for juggling began more than 13 years ago and has never left him since. He now fascinates people worldwide - both in a duo and solo - with his precision, sense of rhythm, and creative artistry. Veronica, from the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, has been on stage since early childhood. Today, she captivates internationally with impressive aerial acrobatics on the vertical fabric and expressive handstand balancing. Whether solo or as a duo – you will experience elegance, strength, and technical precision.
Comedy can also be quieter! The German-French duo Mimikry sets the bar pretty high with their visual comedy, as Elias Elastisch and Nicolas Rocher make the audience laugh without much context. With their mime show "Tasty Biscuits" and many punchy short jokes, the two comedians tour through Germany's big cities. Evenings with Duo Mimikry are characterized by being wonderfully witty, consistently pointed with social criticism, and a tasteful sensation of dark humor and satire. In such a programmatic comedy explosion, everyone gets their money's worth. "Mimikry" is actually a biological term for the attempted imitation of certain characteristics of others to integrate inconspicuously into a crowd. The duo Mimikry silently makes these traits their own.
Maxim Voronin has created his own unique stage art. Born in San Francisco, he is a true variety child, as his parents are Yevgeniy Voronin, a world-class magician, and Svetlana Perekhodova, a unique contortionist. From "both worlds" or disciplines, the young artist, who graduated from the Kiev Academy of Variety and Circus Arts in 2022, has taken the best and created his own very special act. By combining the traditions of magic and circus with theatrical storytelling, Maxim creates a unique genre that reinterprets and revives both art forms. This is also evident in his second act, where he seemingly defies the laws of gravity effortlessly.
Anastasiia Popsulys is an aerial acrobat who can be experienced in Herborn on the aerial hoop and with a very special contortion number. Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, she also graduated from the Kiev Academy of Variety and Circus Arts in 2022. Her acts, characterized by elaborate technique, choreography, and expressive stage performance, have already taken her to Asia and the USA, where she has collaborated with international productions and creative teams worldwide.
Variety shows at KuSch are one of the highlights of the annual program. We look forward to the now 19th edition. And again, this program is only available in this assembly in Herborn!
