kleinstadt
JISKA
April 2025 erscheinen soll.
Dews Pegahorn

For the Indie Pop Night, three local newcomers will perform and bring their own unique sounds to the stage. The evening offers authentic indie rhythms, relaxed pop-rock, and unpretentious melodies. Fresh music away from the mainstream invites exploration. A relaxed evening with good music awaits all who want to hear new sounds.
kleinstadt
kleinstadt stands for an entire generation. The friends Quentin, Timo, Johannes, Karl, and Fabio explore the joys and sorrows of young people with their German-language rock-pop songs, allowing a deep glimpse into their souls. Influences from punk and indie, combined with fast poppy beats, modern guitar riffs, and atmospheric synth sounds, transport emotional worlds like first love, heartbreak, friendship, and aging. The guys have known each other for over 15 years, and they have been making music together for ten years. Endless hours in the rehearsal room and recording studio resulted in their debut album "kleinstadt" in 2022, and in 2023 the quintet followed up with "all die jahre". Their deep connection to their hometown Herrenberg and to each other is evident in every one of their songs. With titles like "all die jahre," "3 mal," and "deine blauen augen," kleinstadt celebrated their first streaming successes - but nowhere does the band feel more at home than live on stage. Whether at the Kesselfestival 2022 in Stuttgart, the Feschtiwaal 2023 in Herrenberg, or at smaller gigs - the audience always gets "kleinstadt pur." The fun and energy spill over to the crowd, sending the viewers on a journey into their innermost selves. Performances, spending time together - that is and remains kleinstadt's greatest motivation. Five friends on the road leave their small town to conquer the hearts of all those who want to be part of this wonderful journey.
JISKA
JISKA's music is the gateway to a vibrant, tipsy, untidy world. Ancient soul dynamics meet youthful indie-pop attitude. JISKA feels - and not just because of the English-language lyrics - maximally international, reminiscent of the releases of young Lily Allen in her lightness and vigilance. The scratchy, warm voice seems only inches away from the ears of her listeners, always in the foreground without ever being pushy. JISKA, whose real name is Jana Franziska Binder, was born in 1999 in the Stuttgart area and has been surrounded by music from her first breath. Her grandfather runs a music school, her mother and uncle are professional musicians, and blues and soul records constantly rotate in the living room. JISKA has been playing the violin from an early age, sees backstage from the inside before she enters a school building, and becomes a bassist in a youth band at the age of eleven. Long before graduating high school, she writes her own English lyrics. Although she successfully completed a training program to become a speech therapist between 2018 and 2020, music is always at the forefront of her thoughts. In spring 2020, shortly before the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, JISKA dares to make her first solo release public. Even though her live performances are initially denied, the subsequent releases make wide waves in the music and media landscape. After completing her training, JISKA spends two months in Valencia, Spain - here, she creates her debut EP "Wild Blue Yonder," which is released in July 2022 and includes the first seven-digit streamed hit "Girl Next Door." JISKA then tours with Betterov and Rhodes across Germany. She rotates on the radio, is nominated by Deutschlandfunk Nova for the New Music Award 2022, portrayed on SWR-Kultur, and accepted into the "Bandpool" funding program of the Popakademie Mannheim. Following gigs at renowned events like SZIGET Budapest or Jazz Open Stuttgart, "It was you" signals the arrival of her debut album "Socially Awkward," which is set to be released on April 4, 2025.
Dews Pegahorn
Dews Pegahorn, an emerging force in the music scene with roots in Madagascar and China, captivates audiences with his unique sound and magnetic stage presence. In just 10 months, the Stuttgart-born artist has achieved what many musicians dream of for years: with his uncompromising rock release, he stormed the underground music scene and is now also reaping the first rewards in the mainstream. While he is celebrated in the alternative scene as one of the most exciting new voices, the big players in the music industry are also beginning to take notice of the charismatic artist. With a discography that consists of only 9 releases and a remix of his biggest hit "Runnin'," Pegahorn has already created a distinctive style. The Stuttgart native with Malagasy-Chinese roots does not stand still – on the contrary: his new projects he is currently working on sound more radical and bolder than anything he has released so far. Yet one thing remains clear: his sound remains sonically unmistakable. At his live shows, fans can look forward to newly arranged versions of his songs that turn the already driving, manic-depressive sound into a wild rollercoaster ride on stage. With high speed and powerful drums, he gets his listeners dancing – an experience that no one should miss.

Jasmin OMEARA und Kat Koan
Local hero Jasmin O'Meara from Neuenhaus combines indie rock with post-punk in her sound and brings her experiences as a former bassist of the British synthpop band Zoot Woman to the stage. Together with Kat Koan from Berlin, who mixes electroclash with rock and makes her unconventional, energetic live shows an unforgettable experience, you can expect an evening full of powerful music and strong female presence:
JASMIN O’MEARA – Indie rock with depth
Jasmin O'Meara, born in Montreal, now lives in Neuenhaus and brings a touch of international indie rock to the county of Bentheim. Her musical journey began at the age of 14 when she took her uncle's guitar off the wall and promptly claimed it as her own. As a self-taught musician, she immersed herself in the indie scene of Montreal, experimented with various genres, and played in several bands.
After a break during which she studied design at university, a chance encounter in London led her back to music, where she became the bassist for the bands Temposhark and Kill Electric. Her international breakthrough came as the bassist of the British synthpop pioneers Zoot Woman, with whom she played from 2008 to 2014.
Strongly influenced by dark post-punk music and her experience in dance and electronic bands, O'Meara released her first solo LP "Lovely Creatures" in 2024. The album explores the difficult search for love in the 21st century and combines her powerful, unique voice with a modern indie rock sound.
From summer 2024, O'Meara has been presenting her "Lovely Creatures" LP on a tour through Germany and the Netherlands – and now the CAPITOL Nordhorn is part of this tour!
KAT KOAN – Alternative rock with attitude from Berlin
Directly from the Berlin independent scene, Kat Koan brings her unique blend of alternative rock and indie sound to the stage. Her music is wild, powerful, and emotional – a mix of raw energy, profound messages, and visual elements that make her performances a special experience.
Kat Koan originally hails from Riesa in Saxony, but has found her musical home in Berlin. Her journey into music began after a burnout when she found her way to songwriting through hypnotherapy. With a background as a TV and video producer, she incorporated her love for visual art into her music and developed a unique style where soundscapes and rhythms from everyday noises play an important role.
Two strong women, one unforgettable evening!
Look forward to two extraordinary artists who show how versatile and powerful modern independent music can be – with emotional indie rock, powerful alternative sound, and a lot of passion.

Folk´s Sake is a sympathetic and charming band from Berlin that sticks in your mind when you think of the passionate sounds of Irish & Scottish Folk. Stina Holmquist - moderne, zeitlose Indie-Popmusik
“Surprising, impressive, touching” (Gaesteliste.de)
Stina Holmquist's songs take you to lukewarm summer nights and touch both soul and heart alike. Together with her band and producer Alex Sprave (Fil Bo Riva, Luke Noa), she develops a modern, timeless indie pop music that creates a unique sound, reflected in a combination of warm indie tones and atmospheric sounds.
Growing up in the loud Ruhr area, Stina Holmquist carries Swedish roots within her. The love for both and at the same time the feeling of never being truly at home in one place fosters an energy that nourishes itself from longing, daydreams, and the joy of constantly rediscovering. Perhaps this is the starting point and at the same time the mixture that leads to the deep emotionality in every Holmquist song, touching so many of us.
In addition to her own concerts throughout NRW, she has already shared the stage as a support act for the German indie giants Giant Rooks and Leoniden, played festival shows, was nominated for the popNRW Award as 'Best Newcomer,' and won the Lalla:Labor Promotion Prize.
Stina’s lyrics are so true, so honest, so deep, yet always let hope shimmer unfiltered on the surface. She tells stories that are deeply rooted in pop music, yet they are rarely presented so fresh and invigoratingly. A simultaneously melancholic yet hopeful comforting indie dream. Modern pop music that takes us out of our daily lives and makes space to deal with fears that we all can't shake off.
“Her personality is so approachable, so genuine – she could probably sing whatever she wants. Anyone who listens to Stina feels with her.” (Strobo)
“It feels like this was just the beginning of something great” (Westzeit)

Orillia - Support: John Steam Jr. - Indie Folk aus Chicago mit regionaler Unterstützung
Orillia is the new project of Chicago singer-songwriter Andrew Marczak. Over the years, he has already made a name for himself as part of the indie rock band The Roof Dogs and most recently the alt-country band Toadvine. Next week, he will release Orillia, his first full-length solo album, on November 19. The album is a work of plaintive and poetic Americana music that evokes the style and content of indie and alternative country greats like Jason Molina and Sparklehorse. Marczak recorded the album live and direct to tape in one day, without overdubs and with minimal arrangements. Marczak describes it this way: “I recorded Orillia on a spring day in Chicago in 10 hours _ It was important to me to impose some limitations on myself for this record. I decided early on that I didn't want any overdubs because I wanted to achieve a certain sound and step a little out of my head. There is less room to correct every little detail or to spend too much time making minor decisions.

John Steam Jr. combines intelligent, introspective songwriting with a high sing-along factor and a deep-rooted fascination for dusty Nashville/Tennessee sound in an inherently sympathetic way. It fits in the DIY shop just as well as between chicken coops and tractors or on the big club or festival stage. Support shows for Joey Cape, Frank Turner, Larry and his Flask, Rosco Wuestewald, Meadows, and many more have shown that with JSJR, a well-balanced cocktail of pop, punk, and country is ready to be served with charm, humor, and disarming honesty between acoustic guitar and hat.

Julian Rybarski & Band - LIVE!
Julian Rybarski combines indie pop with blues, rock Americana, and soul. His music captures the spirit of the times; it is catchy yet simultaneously sophisticated - music for people who love music, not retro, but classic. Rock music away from toxic masculinity. Modern arranged contributions from piano, brass instruments, and refined guitar solos create an expressive listening and live experience. Lyrically, Julian Rybarski addresses both significant themes that concern us all and the everyday life, his depression, losses, and new beginnings. Above all, he wants to convey a sense of hope and belonging with his lyrics.
Julian was born in the Ruhr area, where he still lives today. He spent his childhood in the Netherlands, where he discovered his love for music and artists like Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and Aretha Franklin at an early age, who continue to accompany him to this day. At the age of eleven, he started playing guitar, and at twelve he wrote his first song. Soon he was singing in his first band, driven by the urge to tell his stories through music. After school, he studied music and has since worked as a singer, guitarist, and bassist in various genres, ranging from jazz to pop to classical soul. He has produced and released several albums and has won numerous awards and music competitions. Among others, he has collaborated in the pop and rock realm with Elvis Costello, Ron Sexsmith, Van Dyke Parks, Max Raabe, Suzanne Vega, or Doctorella, and in jazz with Bill Frisell, the Vienna Art Orchestra, and Christian Kappe.

Barfuss - & Friends (Support: tbd) – 20 Jahre Indie-Pop und Rock | Teilbestuhlung
That the Black Forest also masters indie pop rock at its finest is demonstrated by the five guys from Barfuss.
Since their founding in 2005, the musicians have played in varying line-ups everywhere there is electricity and where people enjoy good music. Besides local festivals like Doublestage in Nagold or Feschtiwaal in Herrenberg, the guys also feel at home on regional stages.
The band's live performances also give the dancing audience the opportunity to be convinced by the profound lyrics of the band. Here it becomes clear once again that Barfuss stands for more than just music.

Angelika Express - (D) – Indie-Punk / Power-Pop
Punk rock, pop, and broken poetry - for their 10th album KÖLN IST KAPUTT, the indie-punk stylers navigate the depths of their hometown. Here they find the raw material for their euphoric anthems: anger and hope, wrapped in crisis-tinged slogans full of discursive freshness.
Robert, Annick, and Tscherno take us on a hard-rocking revue through punk, power-pop, and indie. Quote from Toten Hose Campino: "High tempo, massive energy, beautiful melodies, and plenty of sing-along lyrics."
Let’s look forward to an exciting stage presence full of quirky enthusiasm and beautiful aggression. Expect dirty Sex Pistols guitars, slogans full of discursive freshness, and stomping pogo power. Beaming faces across the audience are guaranteed.
