Orgelmatinee: Heimat ist...

In the Frauenstein Silbermann Museum stands a very special instrument: It is a copy of the organ that Gottfried Silbermann built for Etzdorf in the Striegistal in 1732/33. Through several stages, this original instrument made its way to Bremen, where it now resides in the crypt of the cathedral. On the occasion of the restoration of this original by the Dresden organ-building company Kristian Wegscheider in 1994, a copy was constructed, which has since been admired in the Silbermann Museum.
Organist Jan Katzschke allows the "almost well-tempered" tuned instrument to sound at the organ matinee in Frauenstein – in the place that was home to Gottfried Silbermann.
