Mülheimer Boogie Time - Vol. 4
In 2025, thrilling Boogie experiences await in Mülheim an der Ruhr:
Mülheimer Boogie Time Vol. 4 on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 6 PM with Jörg Hegemann and international guests in the Kammermusiksaal of the Stadthalle Mülheim an der Ruhr
Host Jörg Hegemann from Witten looks back on around 2000 performances in over 35 years on stage, including concerts in the USA, Russia, and 13 other European countries. He is the musical director of the BOOGIE WOOGIE CONGRESS at the Philharmonie Essen and various similar events. He has produced 12 CDs under his own name and is featured on numerous festival CDs as well as productions of other musicians. He was the "man at the piano" at events with Bill Ramsey, Chris Howland, Hape Kerkeling, Franz Beckenbauer, and many others.
Among the most prominent German jazz guitarists is Rolf Marx from Cologne. He is internationally known for his involvement in "Engelbert Wrobel’s Swing Society" and the "WDR Radio Orchestra." He played swinging guitar for 7 years in Hazy Osterwald's band and has shared the stage over the course of his career with stars such as Caterina Valente, Bobby Shew, Bill Ramsey, Gitte Haenning, Peanuts Hucko, the legendary bassist Ray Brown, and many more.
Dirk Engelmeyer (drums and vocals) and Matthias Klüter (double bass) are a well-rehearsed rhythm group that has been together for years. As specialists in classic and authentic Boogie-Woogie and Blues, they are a highly sought-after and appreciated backing band among Boogie pianists. They have already played with Axel Zwingenberger, Vince Weber, Martin Pyrker, and many others. Their long collaboration with Frank Muschalle has made them well-known to all friends of this music style.
When Stefan Ulbricht, born in Bonn in 1982, discovered his love for Boogie-Woogie and Blues at the age of 15, it didn't take long for him to rise to the elite of the German Boogie scene. Since 2009, he has also been the organizer of the annual Siegburger Boogie and Jazz Night, which has become a crowd puller. Based on the classic Boogie-Woogie and Blues of the 30s, 40s, and 50s, he brings excellent technique, dexterity, and improvisational skills to his own compositions and pieces from other genres, giving them the typical groove.
We are very pleased to present Stefan Ulbricht, an outstanding Boogie-Woogie performer of our times, in Mülheim.
The event is organized by Mülheimer Stadtmarketing und Tourismus GmbH (MST) in collaboration with the Mülheimer Jazz-Club e. V.
Doors open: 5:30 PM
