Die Schule der magische Tiere - Voller Löcher! - Theater ab 6 Jahren
Since 2013, Margit Auer has been writing about the many adventures that Ida and her classmates experience together with their magical animals at Winterstein School. 15 volumes have been published so far, and three of them have also been adapted into films.
Now, after the great success of the first one, a completely new play 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere – voller Löcher!' is coming.
"On stage!" is the call for the students of Miss Cornfield's class at Winterstein School, as they plan a theater performance, specifically 'Robin Hood'. Helene and Anna-Lena both long for the lead role, and Schoki, much to his chagrin, will now receive daily acting lessons from his grandfather.
Even more than the theater play, Ida is looking forward to her best friend Miriam, who will be visiting for a few weeks and also wants to go to school with her. Before Ida's move, they were the best of friends and had never kept any secrets from each other. Can she keep the secret about the magical animals from Miriam? Probably not... But what will Miss Cornfield think if she breaks the vow?
But her teacher has other worries: Who the heck is digging all those countless holes on the school grounds at night? The whole school is puzzled. If this continues, the auditorium will have to be closed, and then the theater performance can't take place either...
Tristan Berger has now created a captivating and magical theater adventure from the books of Margit Auer and Nina Dulleck (illustrations). Nick Westbrock, who staged the first play in 2021, will also bring the second play 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere – voller Löcher!' to the stage. With a cast of children from the junior ensemble and the professional ensemble in the roles of the adult characters, the play will celebrate its world premiere in September 2024 at the Telekom Forum.
The play is recommended for audiences aged 6 and older.
About the author:
Margit Auer, born in 1967, spent her childhood and youth in Waldkraiburg. As a child, she wanted to be a mail carrier and deliver letters on a yellow bicycle—but then everything turned out quite differently. She became a journalist and wrote articles for various Bavarian newspapers as an enthusiastic local journalist. When her three sons were born, she read plenty of children's books and decided to write some herself—although she still thinks it's great when someone delivers the mail. In her bestselling series "Die Schule der magischen Tiere," Mr. Morrison does that. Which animal would she wish for herself? A donkey!
Margit Auer has received the Leipzig Reading Compass, the Reading Knirps, and the Heidelberg Leander award. From November 2019 to 2023, Margit Auer was also active in journalism again: As a weekly columnist, she wrote for the "Familientrio" of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung." There she answers parenting questions. Margit Auer lives with her family in Upper Bavaria.
