JACOB COLLIER - Summer 2025
The multiple Grammy Award-winning singer, arranger, composer, and multi-instrumentalist returns to Germany in Summer 2025.
30-year-old Jacob Collier has long been one of the most successful musicians of his generation. In March 2024, ZDF described the artist as the "most unlikely pop star of the present" and portrayed his unique blend of jazz, pop, and funk that fills venues worldwide. The Guardian even called him the "new messiah of jazz." Collaborations with artists like Coldplay, Shawn Mendes, John Mayer, Ty Dolla $ign, and several others made the musician known across many scenes globally. Since his debut album "In My Room" (2016), Jacob Collier has won a Grammy with each album release and is also nominated for three more at the 2025 Grammys with his current long-player "Djesse Vol. 4": Best Album of the Year, Best Instrumental or A Cappella Arrangement ("Bridge over Troubled Water"), and Best Global Music Performance ("A Rock Somewhere Jacob Collier"). With his pure joy of making music, Jacob Collier engages his audience and recently sold out the O2 Arena in his hometown of London, where Chris Martin performed as a special guest. In Summer 2025, the exceptional musician will perform open-air concerts in Wiesbaden and Mönchengladbach.
Jacob Collier was born in London and was introduced to music early by his parents, both of whom teach at the Royal Academy of Music. In 2012, he began regularly posting his own covers of well-known songs on YouTube and quickly built a follower base. His version of Stevie Wonder's "Don’t You Worry 'bout a Thing" went viral on the platform and caught the attention of Quincy Jones, who signed the young Brit to his management company in 2014 and has since strongly supported him. Herbie Hancock, David Crosby, Chris Martin, and Steve Vai also quickly became part of his circle of supporters. Just a few weeks after his concert debut at London’s Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Jacob Collier opened the evening for Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2016, his debut album "In My Room," entirely created in his own room, debuted at number 3 on the US Jazz Charts and won two Grammy Awards in 2017. His albums "Djesse Vol. 1," "Djesse Vol. 2," and "Djesse Vol. 3" also repeated this success, each winning Grammy Awards. At the age of 30, Jacob Collier is already an absolute global star in the modern jazz world, skillfully opening it up to a wide audience with influences from funk and pop. His current album "Djesse Vol. 4" was released in February 2024.
