Mitteleuropapperlapapp – Spoken Word Concert
Timo Brunke and the Hölderlin Spoken Word Band
The Stuttgart formation "Hölderlin Spoken Word Band" led by stage poet Timo Brunke celebrates the spoken word with diverse musical means. Saxophone, guitar, looper, and drums perform and jam with the poet's voice; miniature music dramas emerge, everyday speech acts become acoustic Aha experiences, comedy and depth kiss each other. In the stage jazz program for his new poetry collection "Mitteleuropapperlapapp," the Spoken Word Poet pulls at the curtains of reality, gently lifts them – and behold: between the lovingly maintained backdrops of our coexistence, little remains as it was. Even more: hardly anything was ever as it seemed. But that doesn't matter: we shall just reorganize ourselves – right in the midst of transition! The morbid tales, snapshots, and observations of people gathered here help with that. They amuse, create closeness, distance, and new access to the familiar. Countless ideas about life shimmer in rhymes and verses of sardonic attentiveness. Voices from open-plan offices, streets, and squares meet inner monologues of neighbors, opponents, and best friends. The papperlapapp of these pieces is eloquent. An evening for ballad fans and Beethoven lovers, physics understanders, Dada enjoyers, and beautiful souls, despite all times. Deep drilling poetry easy listening.
