With more than an impressive 500 shows across Europe, the UK, and Mexico, three studio albums, and a captivating live album all since 2017, the Swiss band Dirty Sound Magnet is an unstoppable, unbroken force of rock. The uniqueness of their hypnotic music and kinetic live performances has won over audiences worldwide. As teenagers from Fribourg, Stavros Dzodzos (guitar, vocals), Marco Mottolini (bass, backing vocals), and Maxime Cosandey (drums, backing vocals) devoured hundreds of albums while rehearsing with great intensity. Their passion quickly turned into an addiction and a total dedication to their art. Years of experimenting and practicing led to the development of the DSM sound and the DSM lifestyle. The plan has always been the same: "There is no Plan B."
The DNA of this award-winning Swiss act traces back to the "Golden Age of Rock" (60s, 70s), but instead of copying the heroes of the past, Dirty Sound Magnet has worked hard to forge new, their own paths. Their music is compared to a fusion of Led Zeppelin's energy and instrumental virtuosity, the raw energy of Iggy Pop, and the mystique of The Doors. By incorporating modern psych influences like Tame Impala and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard along with thought-provoking lyrics that reflect the social turmoil of our time, Dirty Sound Magnet has created their own musical formula. Since the release of their third and most successful studio album "DSM-III" (Hummus Records, 2022), Dirty Sound Magnet has played over 130 shows, including sold-out tours in the UK, Germany, and Mexico, and in 2022 they were awarded the "Best Swiss Rock Band" prize, marking their second win since 2017. The band began to attract attention with their debut album "Western Lies," released in 2017 by the Berlin label Noisolution, and won the award for "Best Swiss Rock Song" with "Homo Economicus." They then toured extensively across Europe from 2017 to 2020, establishing themselves in the burgeoning psychedelic rock scene of the continent.
This was followed by festival appearances, such as at the Swiss Montreux Jazz, Gurten, and Caribana, as well as supporting rock heavyweights like Wolfmother and Monster Magnet. In 2019, the band released their ambitious concept album "Transgenic," which further solidified their status. When the world came to a standstill during the Covid-19 pandemic, the group used their downtime to record the live session album "Live Alert" (2020), showcasing their otherworldly improvisational abilities. The album, recorded in just one session, was a huge success and garnered the band many new fans worldwide.
The music of Dirty Sound Magnet is in a constant state of development, and their upcoming album, set to be released at the end of 2023 by the Australian label Wild Thing Records, is a testament to their artistic evolution. As the band has been touring since 2022, this new album will take them to new continents and reach a wide audience.

They evoke the soundtrack for a 70s film in the listener's mind. The sound amplifies thoughts of sunny drives down the Sunset Strip of the 60s, a Mexican duel in an abandoned western town, or a dark procession in a rainy forest.
