Nichts ist spannender als eine Schatzsuche. Unsere Schatzkammer ist über 250 Millionen Jahre alt und randvoll gefüllt – der Kalksteintagebau Rüdersdorf. Bei unserer geologischen Führung geht‘s nach einer kurzen wissenschaftlichen Einführung im ›Otto-Torell-Haus‹ gemeinsam mit unseren fachkundigen Gästeführer*innen in den aktiven Tagebau von Rüdersdorf.

Wir können nicht versprechen, dass Sie hier einen Dinosaurier finden, aber Fossilien gibt es im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes wie Sand am Meer. Das offene Tagebaugelände ist den Witterungsverhältnissen ausgesetzt, deshalb kann es bei langer Trockenheit zu Staubentwicklung kommen und bei längeren Regenperioden rutschig/matschig sein. Das Gelände ist abschüssig und die Tour erfordert eine gute körperliche Fitness. Mit der Teilnahme an der geologischen Führung gelten die Sicherheitsbestimmungen. During our geological tour, after a short scientific introduction in the ›Otto-Torell-Haus‹, we will head into the active open-pit mine of Rüdersdorf together with our knowledgeable tour guides.
At the collection point, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and keep your eyes peeled. We can't promise that you'll find a dinosaur here, but fossils are literally as common as sand on the beach. By the way, that’s exactly what brought the animals we find here to this location.
250 million years ago, this area was home to the Triassic Sea, and its former inhabitants can be found today in the rock. Our geological tour is a small adventure with many discoveries. Our tour guides will, of course, assist you with advice and help throughout the tour.
The journey to and from the collection point is by off-road vehicle over rough terrain.
