Behind the name Carolin No are the two singer-songwriters Carolin and Andreas Obieglo. The two multi-instrumentalists, who are married to each other, live – after stints in Berlin and the USA – near Würzburg, where they also write and produce their songs. The duo, which has received multiple awards for their albums and has been highly praised by the specialized press, has released fourteen joint albums mainly featuring English and German songs and has performed with big names like Konstantin Wecker, Reinhard Mey, Hannes Wader, as well as Joan Armatrading and Suzanne Vega.

As a songwriter, Cotter waits for the source of emotions to rise and then expresses her experiences in rhymed couplets. The process typically begins with nostalgia or longing – wondering how things were or how they could be. She endlessly interrogates existence, weaving her worries, hopes, and joys into the fabric of her songs. Cotter has released three albums, "Dreaming as I Do" (2015), "Home on the River" (2018), and "Gently as I Go" (2023).
