Dive into a musical journey between innovation and tradition.
The Berlin duo Liquid Soul (Beate Gatscha and Gert Anklam)
and the Norwegian singer Kari Heimen uniquely combine the sounds of the water pipe organ, joik singing, and other special instruments like hang, aquarion, and saxophone.
At the center of the program is the water pipe organ developed by Liquid Soul,
an instrument that produces sounds directly from the element of water.
Inspired by the diverse forms of water – liquid,
frozen, as snow or steam – the musicians create compositions that transcend common styles. With humor and virtuosity, Gatscha
and Anklam bring these special tones to life.
With the joik singer Kari Heimen, who hails from Sápmi, the land
of the coastal Sami in the far north of Norway, traditional
and modern sound worlds connect. The joik, one of the oldest
vocal traditions in Europe, tells stories of people, animals, and the nature of their
homeland. Kari presents both traditional joiks and her own modern
interpretations, accompanying herself on the frame drum, whose play
she enriches with influences from India and the Middle East.
The joint program musically narrates the beauty and
fragility of our world. From the rugged coast to the delicate sounds
of water, the artists invite you to feel the sound of the earth in touching and profound moments. An unforgettable evening that encourages wonder and contemplation.
