One of the most famous and successful German actresses, Martina Gedeck, tells the exciting life story of George Gershwin in the role of George's sister Frances, using authentic testimonies from friends and companions: His meteoric rise from a scrappy street kid from New York's Eastside to a celebrated Broadway star resembles a successful Hollywood script. Gershwin's grand compositions are interpreted by one of Germany's exceptional pianists, Sebastian Knauer, including the solo piano version of "Rhapsody in Blue."

Without a band and electronics, but focused on the intimate dialogue with the elegant piano playing of Marialy Pacheco. Born in Cuba and now at home in Germany after stops around the world, Pacheco is considered one of the most versatile and brilliant jazz pianists of the younger generation. The encounter with the man with the irresistible soul voice from the Southern Black Forest took place in the context of her CD »Duets«. From this first collaboration, the two have developed a varied yet cohesive and very intimate program. Not only is the shared joy in exchanging across genre boundaries evident in every moment of the duo, but also their curiosity for spontaneous impulses and improvisational escapades. However, Pacheco and Mutzke have the greatest fun interacting with their audience: Clapping, humming, and especially singing along is warmly encouraged!

Songs have marked his life - for over 50 years. For Konstantin Wecker, this is reason enough to reflect on the past decades in countless performances in a wonderful way for himself and his audience. With the new chamber music program “Songs of My Life,” the Munich musician, composer, and author presents his personal poetic highlights from the beginnings to the present day together with his pianist and long-time companion Jo Barnikel.

Among them will be classics like “When Summer is Not Far Away,” the song “Willy” written in the 70s, “Anger and Tenderness,” “Sometimes I Cry a Lot,” as well as “The Lunatics” from his very first LP “The Sadopoetic Songs of Konstantin Amadeus Wecker.”

The audience can also look forward to one or two surprises with almost forgotten songs. One thing has always been true for the passionate pacifist and committed anti-fascist: “In my songs, I have always allowed my fragility, my vulnerability.” In doing so, he has always found himself - and thus his followers, for whom his lines have always been an inspiration. And still are. They can all expect an evening that encourages songs and poems, whose power will shape our lives for many years to come.
