Miriam Hanika
Text, "which reminds one of the poems of Mascha Kaleko or Erich Kästner" (WDR4), a "warm-hearted, benevolent singing voice that guides through a wonderfully timeless event" (Good Times), and an oboe studies, which "gives her a stable basis and wings" (hr2 Kultur) - that is all Miriam Hanika.
Above all, the trained musician is a musical phenomenon through her playful interchange between singing, oboe, English horn, and piano, setting new standards as a multi-instrumentalist. With words from the pen of a philosophical poet's soul, a warm oboe tone, and extraordinary arrangements, Miriam Hanika sings and plays her way into the hearts of her listeners, sometimes as a solo artist, sometimes with her ensemble, the Poesie Orchester.
She is the winner of numerous singer-songwriter competitions. In 2021, she received the music scholarship from the city of Munich and was a finalist in the international Piazzolla Music Competition alongside drummer Simon Popp. With the Dandelion Quintet, she won the first prize in the international Ars Ventus chamber music competition in 2019. Her second album Louise (2021) was nominated for the German Record Award.
In March 2025, her next album *innenleben will be released, a collaboration with the Poesie Orchester and the Dandelion Quintet.
