After their successful 20-year anniversary tour, "Salut Salon" will once again enchant and amaze their audience with a new musical program on the new "Heimat Tour" on Mother's Day, May 11, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM at the Regentenbau, Bad Kissingen. "Heimat" is a program full of poetry with aspiration, which enlivens and uplifts, and beautifully encourages one to accompany the quartet on their own worldwide musical journey home.
Two violins, a cello, a piano - and an excess of creative energy: "Salut Salon" is initially "Hamburg's most charming cultural export" (Abendblatt). With the new program "Heimat," "Salut Salon" celebrates the finale of a concert trilogy in 2025: Following "Love" and "Dreams," here comes the next great, almost all-encompassing theme. Heimat! A word that naturally rolls off the tongue. And yet it immediately raises the question: What exactly is that? Is Heimat a place? Tradition? A feeling? Is it the people that surround you? Or perhaps words, languages, sounds? In any case, Heimat is a very moving theme - especially for the musicians of "Salut Salon," who come from far-flung homelands between Hamburg and Estonia, Ukraine and the USA, and now perform together in all corners of the world. Time and again, the four musicians Angelika Bachmann (violin), Meta Hüper (violin), Heike Schuch (cello), and Olga Shkrygunova (piano) engage in multi-voiced singing that is as touching as it is euphoric.
Throughout all their travels, the quartet has collected pieces of various colors with open ears and fine sensitivity. And they now present these, in unmistakable Salut Salon style, on stage: Works by Mozart, Saint-Saëns, or Copland, songs from Finland, France, China, and Egypt, unknown pieces, famous works, their own compositions, and, of course, as in every one of their programs: Tango Nuevo by Astor Piazzolla. Pieces in which, time and again, in various ways, the question of the wondrous nature of this word resonates: Heimat - what is it?
With the dreamlike self-evidence with which the four musicians tame this incredibly diverse sound cosmos and transform it into a wonderful concert evening, they also provide their very own answer: "Salut Salon" is at home in the world - and their home is music.
