KuSch goes Varieté, Vol. 18 „Mit klirr deluxe,Sheyen Caroli, Duo Elja, Anna Ehrenreich, Monsieur Momo und Monsieur Chapeau“
Since 2008, there have been variety evenings at KuSch, and since then they have attracted an ever-growing audience. Back then, we tried to add another splash of color to an already wide spectrum. With "KuSch goes Varieté," something started that none of us knew where the journey would lead. Now the 18th edition of this concept is already upon us, which has evidently established itself.
For several years now, the evenings have always sold out in advance, and in 2018, Sunday afternoons were added as a date for a third show. The success also lies in the fact that the audience experiences a program that rivals those in the GOP houses, the Krystallpalast, or the Tigerpalast, where almost all of the artists coming to KuSch have performed. The shows can only be experienced in Herborn, which makes them even more unique.
In 2026, we have selected the following artists for you:
Julian Böhme and Pierre-Nicolai Scheffler hold the red thread of the evening in their hands, forming the duo "klirr deluxe." Everything is in balance here - or is it not? The rapid show elements with an energizing mix of juggling, acrobatics, and interaction unleash a fireworks display of emotions not only at the fiery showdown. The struggle with gravity and stage partners delights audiences on all continents – surprising, captivating, hilariously funny – award-winning! With their explosive blend of comedy, magic, and fine acrobatics, Böhme and Scheffler are always at the center. Their tools are plates, chairs, bottles, and everything else that definitely doesn't belong in the air. And all of it is highly entertaining!
Sheyen Caroli combines the art of contortion with perfect handstand acrobatics. True artist blood flows through the veins of the Italian, as Sheyen Caroli belongs to the fifth generation of an artist family. Graceful elegance and strength combine in her unique performance, which stands in the classical circus tradition while exuding modern flair! When at the end of her show she stretches the bow with her feet and shoots her arrow across the entire stage to hit the target, the audience holds its breath. Incredible, fantastic, and graceful – a truly special experience.
To the rocking sounds of Muse, the trapeze duo Elja swirls high above the heads of its spectators through the air. The speed with which they switch from top to bottom, around each other, and over each other merges the two bodies into a single unit, leaving one unsure of who is currently the catcher and who is the flyer. Powerful, precise, and expressive, perfectly tuned to the music, the duo Elja captivates its audience and radiates energy, sensuality, and joie de vivre. A number that must not be missing from any program. Also, on two aerial loops, the duo Elja twists and intertwines through the air. They enchant their audience not only with speed and unique precision but also astound with strong holding figures over and under one another. As an audience member, you get to accompany them on a journey through the skies, as they create beautiful body images that only two mirror-like bodies can form.
Anna Ehrenreich is a true Berliner. As a child and teenager, she was drawn to the stage. She spent every free minute in the dance studio and was fascinated by the possibility of creating images through dance, telling stories, and touching people. In 2005, she swung on a trapeze for the first time. Since then, aerial acrobatics has been her passion. Anna Ehrenreich honed her artistic skills, among other places, at the Etage School for Performing Arts Berlin. For over 10 years now, she has been creating artistic performances on trapeze, dance trapeze, and aerial silk for various events, merging her dance and acrobatic talents.
With his charming and friendly nature and his dreamy view of the world, Momo quickly wins the hearts of his audience. As a poetically comedic storyteller, he surprises not only the audience but sometimes even himself! Momo always engages with his audience: witty, magical, imaginative. Whether in a struggle with himself, in an adventurous game with a gentleman from the audience, or with a touch of "MAGIC": Momo enchants! Visual and non-verbal comedy in a fresh and cheeky manner.
The likeable Monsieur Chapeau aims high! Packed with suitcases, boards, and rollers, he plays directly into the hearts of the audience. "Don’t worry, be happy." Following this motto, Monsieur Chapeau confidently stacks suitcases and rollers into ever more ridiculous structures. Until in the grand finale he conquers five rollers on a dangerously slanted suitcase construction. Literally a highlight! Jump rope, somersault, handstand, 360° spins – and always keeping an eye on the stability of the suitcase structure. And indeed, this fragile construction eventually collapses…
Variety shows at KuSch – they are one of the highlights of the annual program. We look forward to the now 18th edition. And once again: This program is only available in this composition in Herborn!
