Neujahrsvarieté „Groove+“ mit The Funky Monkeys
A special evening just for Köthen from the graduate show Berlin will be presented on January 25 at 7:30 PM at the event center in cooperation with “The Funky Monkeys”, known from Das Supertalent, ZDF Fernsehgarten, and Feuerwerk der Turnkunst.
What comes out when Johann Sebastian Bach, street theater, and beatboxing come together with comedy, hip-hop, and acrobatics: the top-class show “Groove+”, where acrobatics meets street art, and music connects both worlds.
In the show “Groove+”, The Funky Monkeys explore the theme of cohesion in an accessible and humorous way. The performers face various challenges in this piece, which they respond to with acrobatics, slapstick, urban dance, and different musical styles. From the individual characters, a community slowly forms. Trust and cohesion become the basis for the spectacular acrobatic numbers – especially during the construction of the “Chinese Pole”, which can only reach the climax of the show through their collaboration. But in the end, the ensemble is not alone: for the final act, the support of the audience counts. Amidst thrills and excitement, the Funky Monkeys literally place their lives in the hands of the audience and prove that together, great things can be achieved.

The Funky Monkeys is an interdisciplinary and intercultural performance company that combines circus, comedy, hip hop, and music into an extraordinary spectacle! In a unique way, world-renowned and award-winning performing artists combine acrobatics, street dance, comedy, and music. Since 2015, the Berlin company has developed into an international phenomenon, with guest performances that have taken them from Europe to the Caribbean and East Asia.
Among others, the famous circus festival in Monte Carlo rewarded their passion and heart’s blood and presented The Funky Monkeys with the silver award and four additional prizes! The Monkeys have also stepped in front of the cameras of large productions and recently impressed an international audience of millions in the prestigious cabaret show “Le Plus Grand Cabaret Du Monde”. But the national audience has also been amazed by the troupe in shows like “Das Supertalent” and “ZDF Fernsehgarten”.
Their skills, wild charisma, and captivating energy have impressed and entertained audiences around the world.
