amarcord – The vocal ensemble with an unmistakable sound

They perform at the Sydney Opera House, at Carnegie Hall, and wherever a cappella singing in its purest form is appreciated – such as in Darmstadt, where the five vocal virtuosos of amarcord are welcomed as guests of the Deutsche Philharmonie Merck with beautiful regularity. With a program that does not deny its placement just a few days before Christmas, the ensemble, founded in 1992 by singers from the famous Thomanerchor, will once again prove its unique status. Because: "The fact that a male quintet stands so reflectively behind what it sings is rare, even unique in this age of synthetic music machinery," as the magazine Concerti stated about the five exceptional singers from the Bach city of Leipzig.
By the way, for those who have always wondered about the exact basis of the ensemble name: "amarcord," or more specifically "a m'arcord," means "I remember" – in the dialect of the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

Expressive, dynamic, impressive: For over a decade, the Aris Quartet has been at home on international stages. With its unmistakable tonal language, it has long belonged to the top ranks of chamber music.

Founded in 2009 in Frankfurt am Main, the Aris Quartet, whose most important mentor is Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet), continues to perform in the original lineup. The success of the ensemble is no coincidence: With numerous first prizes at renowned competitions, the quartet quickly achieved international breakthrough. The musicians were also awarded as "ECHO Rising Stars" by the European Concert Hall Organisation, were named "New Generation Artists" by the BBC, and won five prizes at the International Music Competition of the ARD in Munich. In addition to regular appearances on radio and TV, the Aris Quartet has already released several album productions that were highly praised by the specialist press.
