Cara "Live"
CARA is a multinational Celtic folk band, awarded with two Irish Music Awards. The musicians come from Ireland, Scotland, and Germany and have earned an excellent reputation in their 19 years of existence for their innovative arrangements, original compositions and songwriting, virtuoso performances, and charismatic stage presence. CARA represents the successful combination of the vocals of two outstanding female singers with rapid Irish instrumental pieces of the highest level. Virtuoso solos on the Irish bagpipes, fast violin passages, moving ballads, and masterful guitar playing – the list could go on. Rounded off by charming and humorous presentations, an evening with Cara guarantees the highest musical enjoyment and best entertainment. This has led them to tours and acclaimed concerts in the USA, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Germany, France, Benelux, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.
At the International Cultural Fair in Freiburg, CARA won the "Freiburger Leiter" in the music category at the beginning of 2018, and in 2020, they were awarded the "Kaarster Stern," the culture prize of the city of Kaarst. With "Grounded," the band released their eighth album in 2021. In an otherwise extremely active and eventful touring and musician daily life, forced to pause due to the events of the pandemic, a thoughtful, philosophical, yet equally life-affirming and emotional testament was created about life's big questions.
Since January 2022, CARA has been performing with a modified lineup. Simon Pfisterer is the new man on the Uilleann Pipes. Upon request, Aimée Farrell Courtney, playing the bodhrán, joins the quartet.
