Falk Zenker
The Weimar guitarist, composer, and sound artist Falk Zenker has recently been crowned by the magazine Akustik Gitarre as one of "the most creative nylon guitarists in the country." For three decades now, he has been delighting audiences and critics alike with his virtuosic guitar playing that spans medieval, classical, flamenco, contemporary world music, improvisation, and live-looped beats.
For instance, Jazzpodium wrote about him: "He is a sound tinkerer and a bridge builder of a special kind, classically trained and blessed with the gift of creating connections between spaces and times in a sensitive, stylish, and entirely unique way, as only he can - lovable, cosmopolitan, typically Zenker, and very, very beautiful."
Currently, Zenker plays and improvises music from his last three albums Estampie, Falkenflug, and Wellentanz, as well as new, unpublished material. With sophisticated live-looping, he sometimes multiplies his guitar playing into orchestral, pulsating soundscapes, which he has been celebrating on stage as the first German acoustic guitarist since 1997.
Falk Zenker promises an inspiring concert experience, where he creates spaces for weightless dreaming, breathtaking heights, cheerful and creative leaps of thought, and for encountering oneself.
