To counteract the processes of gravity and melting at high temperatures, a support structure is needed for each piece. How to create this will also be explained and discussed during the workshop.

First, you will get to know the material and learn how to produce very thin pieces. Guy Van Leemput will demonstrate many techniques for applying patterns, giving you the opportunity to practice yourself. Each participant will start a bowl using one or more of the demonstrated techniques. We will also create the supports that will hold the piece in the kiln. Upon completion of this first "starting bowl," you will be challenged to push your limits further. New "advanced" techniques will be shown, for which we will use a mini clay press. This workshop focuses on the personal guidance of each participant.
