We start in Schöneweide (3:50 PM). On the way to Lichtenberg, we will already pass the Spree Bridge in Treptow and then the legendary Ostkreuz station. After another stop in Lichtenberg (4:05 PM), we head out of the city. At Biesdorfer Kreuz, we reach the Berlin Outer Ring, heading north through Hohenschönhausen. At Karower Kreuz – the northeasternmost point of the Berlin rail network, we set our course back towards the television tower at Alexanderplatz. Passing through Blankenburg and Pankow, we reach the legendary Berlin Ring Railway, a route without end – unique in Europe! Stretching 37 kilometers and passing 27 stations, it surprises with varied insights into backyards and the history of the capital. We follow the Ring Railway through the canyons of Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain and return to Ostkreuz station. Behind the Spree Bridge in Treptow, we branch off onto the Görlitzer Bahn, where we pass the freshly renovated Schöneweide station after a few kilometers, shortly followed by the Schöneweide railway depot, home of Berlin macht Dampf. From Adlershof, we utilize a mysterious connection curve and another section of the Berlin Outer Ring before we turn inwards at Biesdorfer Kreuz and reach Lichtenberg station again after a few minutes. Anyone who wishes to cross the Spree Bridge in Treptow for a third time can continue to Schöneweide station. As a city tour of a special kind, it is ideal for Berlin fans, visitors, as well as families with children.

Our train begins at 3:50 PM in Berlin-Schöneweide (Regional Platform Tracks 1/2). The tour lasts about two and a half hours. Entry is also possible in Berlin-Lichtenberg (around 4:05 PM / Regional Platform). Exit is possible in Berlin-Lichtenberg (5:30 PM) and Berlin-Schöneweide (5:45 PM).

The locomotive is steam engine 52 8177 (80 km/h, built in 1944, 1800 HP, weight 140 tons, length 23 meters). It is the last operational steam locomotive in Berlin and has been operated by the Dampflokfreunde Berlin e.V. for nostalgic trips in and around Berlin since 1998.

Every year on the second weekend of August, 250 traditional sailing ships, museum steamers, and guest ships pass the Warnemünde mole. Those who find a spot on the mole are truly in the front row.
