Poetry + Bar + Jazz
With the death of Michael Braun in December 2022, contemplation on the poetry of our present and the 20th century lost its best mentor. With him, a sneaker-wearing readiness for knowledge disappeared. Braun went far for the remote, found good words for shelf goods. What he knew, he did not flaunt. What he carried, he lugged because he found it imperative. He always invested his grass-waving, bright-tickling knowledge in making connections, promoting authors discreetly, and never turning them away. But the Michael Braun-Lyriknacht does not mourn. On the critic's birthday, the poets and poetesses perform. Among them are some he has accompanied, and some new voices. All very good and all different. They come from Berlin, Rome, Zurich, Cologne, Vienna, and Frankfurt. The main station for poetry. There will be drinks, books, conversations, and breaks filled with jazz from a can until midnight. Moderation and background: Hauke Hückstädt.
The event is supported by Pro Helvetia, Swiss Cultural Foundation.
