Bummelkasten - Irgendwas Bestimmtes
KammgarnKids presents:
BUMMELKASTEN
Something Specific
Children's Concert
Bummelkasten's music videos are clicked on thousands of times daily. The Berlin one-man band has comfortably nestled into the German children's music scene with their completely mouth-made debut album "Something Specific," delighting children, parents, and non-parents alike. Their songs create a captivating pull that is hard to resist. It's no wonder, with their cheerful A-Capella beatbox sound that comes across as delightfully unpolished and entertaining with its detailed arrangements and vocal as well as musical playfulness, they are unmatched not only in the children's music genre. With sophisticated lyrics and quirky humor, Bummelkasten breaks free from the usual mold and explores new artistic territory.
"Are you coming, please!?" - the often-used, politely phrased plea of many caregivers - is so persistently demonstrated in the song of the same name and met with a childish "Yeees" so frequently that it almost hurts. In "Hiking," a fabulously cool song about - well - hiking, the themes of nature and media consumption merge. But it is Bummelkasten's quirky characters that truly capture children's imaginations: Max, the escalator-riding toilet paper thief. Susi, the toughest princess of all, who enjoys grilling pony sausages and driving to the bakery in a monster truck. Shiny, the light fairy, who treats herself to a trip through the solar system but quickly gets fed up with each planet visited. Bulli Battmann, a mean bully on the schoolyard who cries into his pillow at night, or Klaus the janitor, the smartest janitor ever.
Since the first Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin, Bummelkasten has been a resident at the annual highlight of "Kidzapalooza," the parallel family-oriented event. He casually performs on stage from a chair. Besides the humorously performed songs, it's especially his loop station interludes that provide great fun.
So, take your sticky fingers off the couch, kick off your grip socks, and take another bathroom break: Bummelkasten is in town!
