“A boarding school novel, awarded the German Book Prize, that can stand comparison with Robert Musil or Hermann Hesse.” Denis Scheck, ARD Druckfrisch
At first glance, it is the backdrop for a great adventure: the traditional boarding school in the heart of Vienna, surrounded by a park with hills, sports fields, and a historic grotto. But Till can make little of the curriculum or the snobbish environment. His passion is computer games, specifically: the real-time strategy game Age of Empires 2. Without anyone around him knowing, he is, at fifteen, an online celebrity, the youngest top-10 player in the world. The only question is: How real is such happiness?
“A witty, coolly analyzing, sensitive story of young people in the 21st century... An outstanding contemporary novel.” FAS
