LEONIDEN - Sophisticated Sad Songs - Tour 2025
Summer is over, and once again, LEONIDEN have climbed onto various festival and club stages, leaving hundreds tangled in the mosh pit. At the end of August, their new album "Sophisticated Sad Songs" was released, and starting in the fall, the quintet will embark on a Europe tour of the same name. And now, ahead of this tour, it’s official: in February 2025, it continues directly!
Anyone who has seen LEONIDEN live even just once will remember for a long time: surreal, blissful faces on and in front of the stage, broad soundscapes, solidarity circle pits, somersault kicks, experimental synth contortions, and circulating guitars. These special live moments have always been at the center of the band’s DNA and have made LEONIDEN gradually better, louder, and more well-known from festival summer to festival summer.
With the new album "Sophisticated Sad Songs," LEONIDEN transform collective discomfort into communal joy – the Leoniden Paradox. The songs of the Kiel quintet, led by Lennart and Felix Eicke, Jakob Amr, Marike Winkelmann, and Djamin Izadi, seem to be always wrapped in a veil of euphoria, are highly danceable, and are predestined for the largest stages. In stark contrast, the same pieces often convey negative, world-weary thoughts on a lyrical level, just waiting to be drowned in collective dance euphoria.
